Which P-223 Nikon scope for my AR

I have the 3X on my latest build and love it. The drop compensator is dead on to at least 300 yards. Unless you are building a target rifle and plan on shooting longer distances I would save the coin and go with the 3X.

I have the M-223 2x8x32 with the BDC reticle on my M4 profile Windham SRC. I love the scope, it is a great optic for the money and I have no problems hitting golf balls out at 100-200 yards, which for me, not being a great shot, is gratifying.

Have not ever tried the P series but the M series gets a thumbs up from me.

It gets no love (from brand snobs?), but check out the Bushnell Throw Down PCL.

I got an early one when Walmart was the only place that had them - they can now be found for under $250 (probably delivered) if you search. You could also swing by your Walmart to get your hands on one and eyeball it?

Everyone that's looked thru mine has been impressed - a few have bought 'em after doing so. One thing I like about it is it's a 1st Focal Plane reticle, so your BDC marks remain the same no matter what power you have dialed up.

You can read my review of it here.

What's the deal with the little joystick?

That's the Throw Down PCL (Power Control Lever).

I wondered about it AFA longevity/toughness when I bought mine - as long as it hangs in there, I have no problem with it. It does make power changes easy/quick - I'm sure it was developed with 3-Gun in mind.

Not a bad little device, but the name????
