If you can find one, get the "Tactical" Its got Springfield "Loaded" features at a bit under Springfield GI prices.

The RIA standard is a great gun if you want the WWII GI look.

Thanks, I am still deciding on the standard or the tactical. I would just like to hear from a lot of the owners.

Note that both in the photos are the "Tactical" variations.

You prefer the ''Tactical'' over the Standard?

Not to hi-jack a thread, but does the RIA 1911's get the dust cover rub that the Taurus 1911's do?

I bought Tactical because of the sights and beaver tail safety. Regular 1911 sights are too small for my old eyes and the hammers chew on the web of my hand. So far I'm pretty happy with it. Feeds most anything.

Heck yes, for $50 more and you get all those extras. You would be nuts not to buy the Tactical.

+1 for the tactical. To me this is the best buy on the market. Very accurate and not a hiccup yet been through 500 rounds.

Another +1 for the "tactical" model. Have 2 of them in this household.
