I am going to DuraCoat my AR and have enough DuraCoat left to do a pistol or two. Which pistol do you guys think pairs up the best with the rifle; Glock 19, Kimber 1911, or Beretta M9? These are the only 3 pistols I would consider DuraCoating and would most likely only DuraCoat the frame only. I am doing this only for the cool factor,(I know it's dumb) the DuraCoat I will be using will be Air Force ABU. (I am in the Air Force) Thanks for your opinions.

Glock. The Beretta isn't tacticool enough to run with an AR and the 1911 is too old-school.

Like where your head is at but not sure if that camo pattern will translate well to a firearm, especially a pistol frame (being that it is small). I prefer solid colors for small things or something like AM Stripe. I voted M9 to stick with the airforce theme, if solid color I'd go 1911.

The AR is a very modular design, easy to work on and replace parts.

So is the Glock.

Add that to your poll and I bet you'll see it run away with the results.

Whatever works for you.

I've got an Eagle AR lower and a 16" Sherluk and 20" FN upper.

I've got a Glock 19 and several M1911s.

You couldn't GIVE me a Beretta.

Beretta, since that's what most AF guys are issued these days, in addition to M4s.

I voted beretta- only because those are the two military sidearms (m4/m16 type and m9 type that is) and I think they would be quite a nice set

I have three Beretta 92's. I have sold 2 Glocks. They are my LEAST favorite weapon platform. They feel like water pistols, and since I don't intend to throw my $500 Beretta out of a plane, bury it in ice, or run over with a truck, the Beretta is the one for me. Not ONE person I have ever let handle my guns has picked up a Glock and said "Ohh! This feels nice".

Beretta M9's have been the standard US sidearm for 25 years. They're one hell of a gun.

It's 9MM, DA first shot, Italian decent and it's not a 1911. Other than that...I still wouldn't want one.

Actually, I bought one about 20 years ago. Kept it for about ten years and never fired a round through it. Just not for me.

Glocks are very durable, yes a little lighter, but they have their places, I like the Beretta for the durability, but I dont like the 9mm, especially for Military use, I would use a .45 caliber handgun for Military use, so I voted Kimber, just because of the caliber.

Reaper--- I was being facetious and making fun of the gun-shop-commando crowd.

I say an XD Tactical or a HK USP in any caliber.
I do have an XD45 but I don't plan on DuraCoating it, as for HK if you gave me one today I will sell/trade it tomorrow.

I think the 1911 45 acp is the perfect complement to the AR 15.

With the AR 15 you have a light and fast cartridge and with the 1911 45 acp you have a slow and fat cartridge.

Plus plenty of history with the M16 pattern and the 1911 in Vietnam.
