I own and shoot M/N's, Mauser and SKS'. My 1937 mauser and 91/30 are tack driver's. My M38 is so-so as far as accuracy. My two norinco SKS's pretty good with surplus chinese ammo. As far a quality is concerned a pre-war mauser is a thing of beauty and craftsmanship!
If I had to pick based upon $$$ the M/N would get the nod. A post war M44 that has been shot little should work fine for years!
