Hey guys there is an auction coming up this Saturday at a local auction house and in it are three 22mags that I am considering getting. The Mossberg 640KB has a 3-12x40 scope on it and is in very good condition, the Marlin 25MN has a 4x32 scope on it and also in good to very good condition while the Savage 65M wears only irons. I for sure want to get the Marlin because I have I read it is darn accurate and a great gun it's just that I'm not for sure how high I should bid on it, any suggestions? I have also read the Mossberg is a pretty nice shooter but with a heavy trigger, do ya'll think I should pick it up or let it pass? If I should try and get it what should be the top dollar? As for the Savage 65 M I can't find much on it other than it only has a book value of about 100 bucks in excellent condition and that it too has a heavy trigger, should I make an attempt on it? The Savage sells first followed by the Mossberg and then Marlin. I want to get the Marlin for sure but what about the others? Any help and advice would be much appreciated. Thanks,
Justin

Thanks Gordon. How well do you like yours? How well does it shoot? If you were to buy another one would you spend 200 or so on it if you don't mind my asking?

Mine is from the 60s and it is 2" at 100 yards accurate with it's 4x Japanese STAG scope.I also have a Marlin 25N But it is a "Garden Gun" and only shot goes down it's smooth bore.

Well that isn't too bad of accuracy but I believe the better trigger on the Marlin has won me over and after do a money check and realizing buying both would put me strapped for money I think I'm going to focus on the Marlin

I have the Marlin 25MN with a Simmons 4-9x scope. It's a sweet set up. I bought the rifle 2-years ago and paid $125.00 without the scope. The trigger is very easy to lighten to 2.5-3 lbs.

My first rifle when I was roughly 11-12 years old was a Marlin 25MN (still have her, and now I am 26). Never had a problem with it and it was a pretty nice little setup once I put a 4x32 scope on it. It's what I learned to shoot on so I am probably a little biased, but I say go with the Marlin.

Well I'm fixin to head into the auction in a bit, decided I'm going to focus my attention on the Marlin, just seems like to good a rifle to let pass. Not to concerned with the other two now that I think about it.

Well I got there and got a number two guns before the Mossberg, ended up letting it at 150, prolly shoulda got it but ended up only having enough to get one so I got the Marlin for 174 after fees and taxes. It appears to have had very few rounds through it, every is still sharp and crisp. Has a great trigger in it that feels about like the accutrigger in Savage mk1 which is set to the lowest pul of 2.2lbs. The scope is a Tasco 4x32. Overall fnish is excellent, no rust and no scratches, stock has minor ding in the comb but nothing major. Going to the range either later today or tomorrow to shoot it
