    All,

    I have taken up lately reading the classified ads looking for some guns to add to my collection/safe. Needless to say the big papers around here do not carry gun ads (Wash. Post and Balt. Sun. Go figure), so I am regularly checking my smaller daily county paper.
    Today's paper had the following gun listed:

    For Sale: Mussel Loader .50 cal

    Now I know why the oysters are so hard to find.

    I often wonder when I see typos in adds like that;
    is the typo from the person entering it into the computer, or are they just copying the typo of the seller?

    Prolly some of each.

    Some papers let you phone in your ad. That's always good for some mixups.

    It takes some serious mussels to load a tight .50 patched roundball with a patch that's too thick...

    That's one of them dangerous snapper rifles I heard about from VPC! You can shoot a boat out of the water a mile away with one of those! Only a TERRORIST would want one! :what:

    But I might buy one just for the ....

    (yeah, you knew it was coming)

    ....halibut.

    I wonder if any sharks were surfing the want ads looking for a bargain like that? It sounds like a fishy deal to me:)

    In the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette I see "Grand" rifles for sale for as little as $550 or $600.

    That's something, to get a grand worth of rifle for about half price.

    Or maybe, those rifles just aren't that grand after all.

    More than once I have seen .308 Mousers for sale in my local fish wrap. Frankly, I find the .308 to be a bit overkill for mice - it ruins the meat.
