Like 20g of 3F T7 or goex and then 20-25g of 2F as filler?

I like the kick of the 20g load any more for me is just using up to much powder per shot. I have some extra 2F that is old for rifles that i dont think ill use.

Rather then use cream of wheat as filler to bring the ball up what if i use 2F as the filler? then it would bring the ball up but it will also burn up. I dont want any more kick though if i dont have to.

I could preload 15 or 20g in the load tubes i use, put a ball on, then put my normal 20g 3F load and ball that. Then when i go to load it ide put the 3F in first, push the middle ball out then load in the 2F "filler"

I wont really be "mixing" the powder but it should burn after the 3F burns right?

Just to try and see if it helps accuracy?

In what firearm are you planning to do this? 40 to 45 grains of powder won't fit in some revolver chambers.

Are you serious? The 2F will burn the same time as the 3F but will probably continue to burn down the barrel and out after the bullet. The felt recoil should be more, there will be a big flame shooting from the end of the barrel in the dark, and cleaning will be more of a chore. What could go wrong?

Fill

You are not using a "filler" as is normally understood. You are doubling the charge. The difference between FFFg and FFg ballistically is small. It is all the same stuff just ground differently. So...you'd be shooting 40 grains instead of twenty and your recoil will increase.
Fillers are normally inert and are either consumed by the burning powder charge or are ejected by it.

That sounds like a lot of bother to no good purpose. If you wanna shoot full charges, just shoot full charges of the FFg. No mixing, no hassle.

Yeah i was serious but wow was that a stupid question.

I tried 2F today because i have about 2 pounds of it and ide have to shoot 2 guns side by side to tell the difference.

Ive been using 20 grains of 3F and with 2F i went up to 30 grains and i swear it feels the exact same.

This is fun stuff trying all these different powders and loads and ball sizes you just cant beat the fun of black powder.

Yes it is a lot of fun trying out different load combinations. Bower, did the 30 grains of 2Fg improve accuracy?

I think it did actually.

I thought it was these conical bullets some guy at the range casted for me but i never thought about the 2F helping.

I have goex 2F, T7 and pyrodex all in 2F

I think i got them all mixed up today what i was using, i kept the powder brands in groups but lost track what i was shooting when.

One of the powders shoots a little higher then the other 2

Would it be the one with more or less power?

This is what i shot today.
