Who are you?

I'm a male attorney, age 56, and am married with two children, one in college, one in high school. I have lived in the Denver area for 33 years.

I started shooting in college when a fellow student introduced me to plinking w/.22 cal rifles. Later I tried his Colt Python which began my enjoyment of revolvers. I joined the college bullseye shooting team which shot matches against local factory teams, police dept. teams etc. in CT. I was only a fair bullseye shooter but enjoyed the competition and being around like-minded folks.

I have owned a .22 rifle since college. I joined Aurora Gun Club in 2001 and gradually built up my collection. I prefer quality over quantity in my firearms and plan all purchases very carefully. I compete in USPSA, travel out of state to a couple of matches each summer, and reload my own ammo. Time spent at the range is good especially if my son comes along.

:) :)

40YO average white guy here. Married (second time around for both of us) at the moment, but it's going down the tubes. Ex Navy (two tours with Uncle Sam, mainly overseas) but currently work at a college as an office manager/cat herder. Pays well enough but certainly not enough to support anything approaching an "unlimited" shooting budget. I've been shooting since I was about 10 and it's just "stuck" with me all my life.

Currently I own two revolvers (S&W 686 4", S&W 617-10 6") a Ruger MK II (highly modified for Bullseye type shooting) and a Springfield .45ACP (no pic, it's a work in progress).

Current dream guns include, but are not limited to: Sig 226 ST, S&W Model 41, S&W 25-5 in .45LC and maybe one of those uber-fancy Hamilton Bowen SAA's just for good measure.

Guns I wish I'd never sold: my 6" Colt Python and it's little brother, the 6" .22 Diamondback. Yes... that's right. I sold them BOTH some 20 years ago. Talk about 20/20 hindsight and all that...

Male, 23 years old, MA International Relations, obsessed with fireamrs, wish could start collection with a mint condition Krinkov wearing plum furniture full auto.
Reside in Uzbekistan, Central Asia. Single. No pets.

So what became of the person who started this thread, Girlwithagun? She was a fairly regular poster for a while then suddenly disappeared. Hasn't posted anything in a year now.

She and her husband Anapex have three young boys to take care of and recently moved to PA where the air is cleaner, the people are nicer, the guns are cheaper and ccw is a reality. No more Maryland idiocy to deal with.

I'm 59 and a Retired Nassau County, NY Cop.............
My wife and I have been full time RV'ers since I retired in 1988.........
We have a 40 Foot Diesel bus that we live in and travel all over the US, Canada and Mexico in the warm months.......We also own a campsite in a Co/Op campground in Crystal River, Florida.....(For the winter)........

I own a GLOCK model 27 that I have modified with the extended controls......I use standard 9 round magazines with Scherer Plus Zero extensions..........
I'm going to install Crimson Trace laser grips on the weapon when the cash is available..........I also want to put "Sure Sight" triangular shaped iron sites on the weapon when they are finally released by the maker.......

I use a Clipdraw and Trigger safety Blok to carry the weapon most of the time and also use an ankle holster or a DeSantis Belt holster in the cool weather..........

I only want one firearm in the house and always carry it when out and about...........

I put all my extra cash into practice ammo (180 Grain .40 cal)
I keep the gun loaded with Federal Bonded Hollowpoints (180 Grain) for Concealed carry......

I usually get to the outdoor range once a week and fire 100 to 200 rounds at the 25 yard line to keep in shape........

In 23 years of Police work I have used a firearm to save my life a few times............Once I had to kill an attacker on duty..........

Off duty, I've had to use a firearm twice to defend myself when being robbed at knifepoint...........Neither of the two perps died, but without a handgun, they would have sliced me up like a pepperoni, I'm sure.......

I have never belonged to any gun clubs or the NRA but always kept my shooting skills up for personal defense..........

I have hunted for deer in Maine for over 25 years and have never actually killed a deer..............I just love roaming the woods and have always taken just one deer slug loaded in my shotgun out with me............I still have the same slug I have used all those years.......

I've done a lot of Phesant hunting and love that..........

I truly believe that if the pinko's get our guns away from us, out country is doomed..................It didn't work in England and Australia and it won't work here.........

Who I is...

Rubberband man, wild as the Taliban, [40] in my right, 45 in my other hand... j/k :neener:

I am an enigma, no other way to describe myself. I guess to begin, I am a 31yr old black male, married, no kids. I work for a telecom as a project manager and have been here for 9 years or so -- to young to retire, to old to quit. Went to college but didn't finish, registered independent with liberal leanings. I hail from all over: I was born in Kansas, lived in Alabama, Kansas, Mississippi, and Texas. Moved to New Jersey when I was in high school and lived there for 10 years or so. Just moved back down below the Mason-Dixon to Texas this past Feb.

Personality wise, I'm a chameleon. LOL. That is to say I adapt to my situation as needed. Due to life experience and living in a variety of places, I'm pretty comfortable anywhere. So I hang out in the hood, very professional at work, very much into family, and just have a good time. Wholesome values with a modern upbringing. Wasn't always that way, but life is about learning and progression.

So yeah, you can find me in a park reading or flying a kite, on an Ave. finding out whats hot in the clubs, in a museum looking at the latest exhibition, at home playing XBox Live or taking apart a computer, at the range tightening my aim and groups, or out and about anywhere with a camera taking photos. My interests run the gamut as I refuse to be pigeon-holed into any type of category.

So in a nutshell, that's who I be. Words don't me justice, you gotta come hang out with me. It's a trip. One minute I can seem like someone you should be clutching your purse around and the next minute you find that I'm really a level headed and mature guy...I just come with a twist of lime and splash of gin.

Oh yeah, Tanqueray 10 and Tonic...that's ma drink! ...in case you're ever in the D/FW area.

You sound like a good guy, Big Calhoun, 'cept for that 'liberal leaning' part. :)

Me, I'm a 44yo married father of 2 boys, 10 and 12. I work as a network engineer at a university. Being immersed in the liberal world of higher education is enough to make me want to quit it all and become a bartender in Montana.

I certainly don't have unlimiited means to buy guns, but that sure is a nice fantasy to have.

I have a small collection that is slowly growing. Mostly old milsurps. Only 1 shottie and a couple of pistols.

I shoot in local Garand and high power matches. I'm going to the range now to shoot something but I haven't decided what yet.

19 years old, in college, psychology major for a law enforcement career.

Work with my schools IT dept. (read: Boring)

Own an 870 and a marlin 795.

58, single, with a nine year old daughter that lives with me and thinks she controls my life...LOL

I am a construction electrician with a side business. I set up at gun shows and sell knives, firearms related stuff and sometimes sell or trade my personal firearms. This is what finances my firearm hobby. I buy ammo in bulk because I love to shoot. I have a lot of guns and am always trading then around and building or changing my collection. I enjoy learning about and playing with all kinds of different types of firearms. Been doing that since I was old enough to have my first cap gun.

I pay cash for everything, live simple, and am low maintenance. Believe time with friends and family is more important the money. Will never be materially rich but feel I am spiritually and emotionally very well off.

55, product designer/photographer; wonderful fiancee, no dogs, her kids on rare moments when they can't avoid us. She's getting her license, too.

New Kid on the block

I just discovered this site ? Seems like this could be an interesting place ...

I'm a retired Game Warden Det. and have been for some time .. I shoot, hunt, and fish and work part-time to support my hobbies ... AND ... spend my spare time (?) with my three grandsons ?

McBendy Elbow, IMO this is the best site on the Internet. Period.

As for "who I am" in the context of the question, I am the financially challenged owner of a very small number of decent guns. The "financially challenged" part really bites, but the "very small number" is IMO a good policy. Like the saying goes: "Beware the man with one gun! He just might know how to use it!"

But, as they say, to each his/her own!

I'm 22, I work for a cellular company (formerly worked in night clubs), and I'm not single (not married, but in a serious relationship).

Not too much disposable income, but that should change soon.

I'm 26 years old, male, and divorced. I make my living as a network engineer and go to college part time (computer science). Most of my disposible income (less than there could be because of the mortgage) goes to having fun with my girlfriend and various friends.
I grew up around guns, not having any seems odd. I manage to buy one or two a year (usually milsurps or "working man's guns" like Tauruses, CZs, Rugers, and Remingtons, nut junk, but not feature-packed). I tend to buy ammunition in bulk too. It's cheaper that way.

Retired Marine, Retired School Teacher, enjoying the good life of retirement.
Boring!!!!
I have been teaching Hunter Education Classes since March l972. I teach marksmanship classes for rifle and pistol. I also teach Ladies's Handgun Classes when I get ten students.
I am 64 years of age and have more guns than I can keep clean. But I am going to another Gun Show tomorrow. Who know what I will discover there.

I am just recovering from a Hurricane which did major damage to my house but only damaged one rifle. So I was lucky.

I do a great deal of reloading and have a firing range on my property. I normally shoot in two or three action pistol matches each month.

I can afford whatever I want but I enjoy trading and dealing for most of my firearms.

46, divorced (thank god), Father of 2 great teenage daughters. Former cop and firearms instructor / pistol team member...current computer geek. Used to have mo' guns then I do now, hopefully that will start to change soon.
