Sometimes its nice to know its going to a good home or purpose.

I sold off two Rossi 357 levers when I upgraded to 44 mag recently. One was bought by a mobile butcher who wanted something with more punch than 22LR for slaughtering animals with head shots. The second was bought by a guy who wanted something low recoil to introduce his kids and wife to centrefires

I was fortunate to be able to sell the last two firearms, a stripped lower and a S&W revolver, to members of this illustrious site, who both happened to be residents of my state.

Even more fortuitous was being able to convey them both in person and meet and converse with two interesting gentlemen.

Sold 2 pistols to my best bud, ended up buying one of them back, when unexpected medical problems arose.

I have no idea as it was on consignment at the LGS. The very last that left my house was a trade and it went to a good home as it was my daughter but I think that it was my son-in-law that wanted it. If so he will take good care of it too.

Last gun I sold was a sig p365, hated that pos. I could've cared less if the guy threw it in the river afterwards. But it went to someone here on thr.

A couple weeks ago I offered to sell my daughter my S&W 642-1. She said she would buy it because her husband wanted it for his self.
I told her I changed my mind. I decided to keep it.
If you knew my daughter's husband you would understand why. And, you would understand why I don't call him my "son"-in-law.

Th last one I sold was a Zastava PAP to a private party on a gun for sale forum, not opap or npap but just a pap which is a single stack AK. It has the 1.6mm receiver and can be opened up to double stack with a dremel. It is a nice rifle and i got a great deal new at a dealer 6 or 7 years ago for 450. I sold it for 750 because i prefer to shoot my Opap and Npap Underfolder. The guy that bought it said " Wow i never have had a single stack AK" Like it was rare or something LOL. I let him think that and took da money.

I sold a 1903 Springfield to Major General Gentry, when I was working at the R.I.A. Museum. He was stationed there and I was working in the museum at the time.

It was really kind of fun to have an extended conversation with a two star general. When I was in, Spec 5s didn't get to talk to Major General's.... ever! ( Unless you were in deep doo-doo. ) General Gentry was ( is ) a collector himself and very knowledgeable about U.S. Martial arms. He insisted I stop calling him "Sir" . I am old enough to be his father. I responded by saying anybody who walks into my museum with stars on his chest will now and forevermore be addressed as "SIR " regardless of any age difference !!

Last guns I sold, my Ithaca M37 collection, I sold to the guy who wrote the books ... we've become friends since and I knew they were going-to a good home. He gave me a heckuva price and I I completely emptied one gun safe and part of another in the process.

Traded my S&W 642 in for a 442 to get rid of the bright silver color back strap showing in my pocket opening. The 642 was gone within a week.

Traded in my Seacamp LWS 32 on a Beretta Tomcat. Never checked to see how long the Seacamp sat or did not sit.

Bought and never picked up a Clerke 1st .22 LR. After discovering it was made of pot metal (think Hot Wheels cars), I asked for a refund and got it in the form of a store credit I used on a Bond Arms Derringer. The little Clerke is still sitting there 2 months later.

Purchased a Hellcat from a guy off of GlockTalk $300 shipped, and sold it locally face to face for $375 to a young man who looked to be in his early 20s. I think it was his first gun, I am not sure. (In the past I would have seen his ID).

Ever since Virginia made F2F sales illegal without going through a FFL, I don't really converse with people anymore when buying or selling. In the past, I'd talk to the buyer about politics and/or guns for as long as 30mins after already doing the transaction.

Traded one in at my LGS as they gave me a very good price right up front and didn't try to haggle with me about it. Sold two on consignment at another dealer so I don't know who they ended up with but one sold for my asking price and the other went for some really big money!

I view my firearms like some view pets. There's something that makes it more satisfying being able to meet the buyer and know where the firearm I purchased and birth into circulation is ending up next. Plus, I don't have to share any profits...

Never been a fan of selling to an FFL or via consignment.

The last three I sold, I sold to co-workers (fellow gun guys). They were all redundant, models I owned two or more of... I traded in a couple (that I did not like) to my (favorite) LGS to offset new acquisitions. Sold a couple to THR members, a couple more to guys on my regional gun forum (a plug here for www.northwestfirearms.com). Call me sentimental, but I want to know anything I part with goes to someone who really wants it or to my trusted dealer who's not gonna try to rip anyone off.

Sold a Finn M39 to a relative newcomer at our monthly military bolt gun match.

I generally don't like selling guns. If I sell it I no longer have it. However, this one I can visit every month...:)

I sold a revolver to my executive secretary, then bought it back from her.

I want an executive secretary.

No, no I don't. What I want is lackeys. Dozens of lackeys.

Interesting. Are you talking about Walt Snyder?
Have you ever posted a list or photos of the collection you had? I'm a 37 fan and would like to take a look if available.
