I always kinda like Bronson's style, but Eastwood had the best one liners.

What's my next movie rental gonna be?

Apolagies to Norris fans .. but IMO he can't act!! So doesn't feature for me.

Stallone ... generally way too OTT (over the top) .. to take seriously.

Eastwood .. love the guy but still think some of his acting in the earlier movies we might be considering was not quite all it should have been.

Winner is Bronson for me ... pretty cool ..... quite a lot of authenticity (when directors let him!) .... and top of these four for acting. Death Wish was amongst many of his great ones.

I'll say Eastwood, although I think DeNiro at least deserves a honorary mention for Ronin, Heat, Taxi Driver, The Deer Hunter, ect; not always accurate but always entertaining.

I Like Bronson as well, but Norris and Stallone are gorillas shaved by Hollywood execs in IMO:neener:

Tough call between Eastwood and Bronson but I'll have to go with the latter. Production quality on his flicks never quite seemed to be up to par with Eastwood's but his acting talent almost always seemed better. The other two aren't even in the same class.

The original question is "Who made a better gun movie?" Going by that Clint Eastwood is the winner hands down. In several of his movies (Unforgiven, Outlaw Josey Wales, Dirty Harry series) the guns should have been listed in the credits as his co-stars.

Bronson on the other hand made several good movies (i.e. Mr Majestic, Telefon) with gunplay but the gun was only a footnote to the character.
Even in the Deathwish series the gun(s) Bronson used were almost inconsequential.

It didn't matter what gun Paul Kersey used. Whereas the guns used by Harry Callahan helped define his personna.

Have to go with Clint. As far as "Gun movie's" go, Dirty Harry series was all about the guns.
What about John Wayne??

I always thought that Big Jake was one of the Duke's best gun movies, although he didn't use most of them.

Eastwood is my favorite from the list above. The Outlaw Josey Wales is my favorite movie of all time. "Well, Mr. Carpetbagger, in these parts we've got whats known as the Missouri boat ride."

Norris may not be much of an actor, but he is the real deal. All of the others are just wannabe bad asses! If you want to see a great Chuck Norris film that you will enjoy watching with your kids, rent Side Kicks. Its a really funny film with some valuable life lessons.

I would say that Clint Eastwood made the best gun movie.
For a real life fight though, I would rather have Chuck Norris watching my back. ;)

gotta go with Eastwood, not only does he use my fav gun, a mag, but i have the same last name as his character Dirty Harry.

I did like " The Mechanic" with Bronson. Was a great flick, but really, Eastwood had the best one liners.

For Westerns, gotta agree with Preacherman, loved JW.:D

Death Hunt is a great movie.

But Clint has it, as far as movies go. Most of the good ones, that he is in, he directed. Plus, he in in so many different kinds of gun movies: war, western, police. If its a gun movie, Clint has done it and done it well, usually.
