I have a short barreled Mini-14 (16"). With Wolf and PMC ammo, at night, the muzzle flash is beach ball sized. Kind of fun and not unexpected.

Does anyone have any particular factory recommendations for a round that would have a lower muzzleflash for more serious occassions?

I too have found that PMC throws quite a fireball, even from a 20". GA Arms 55gr FMJ doesn't have much flash out of a 20", but does have some from a 16".

I'd be kind of interested if anyone knows of a round that doesn't flash from a 16".

If you're willing to pay a little extra the Black Hills .223 has far less flash then milspec ammo.

I second the Black Hills recommendation. They consistently have less flash for me than other ammo.
