Who shoots a P9S.45

Its a VERY large gun for a single stack 45, lots of internal moving parts, overly expensive.. and yeah, I want one too.

If you want it as part of a collection, it's an interesting part of handgun evolution. As a shooter or carry piece, you can do a lot better with a different gun. The cocking lever on them is difficult to reach and operate, heel clip magazine release, difficulty in finding holsters (Milt Sparks used to make them for this model). If you want a full sized DA/SA semi auto, go with the Sig P220.

Thanks Gentlemen; I currently have a factory nickle 220 and it's a very accurate pistol Ihave lots of 1911's in most calibers and HK's in .45 ,9mm and .40 cal.also P7's I shoot them all (no safe queens) This pistol is LNIB available in CALIF. and if your interested I'll give you the email address let me know.. From what I've gathered so far I'll probably pass..Thanks again.. ;)

I carried one for a short while.

Nice pistol. Accurate. Effective sights. Oddly shaped but pleasant to shoot. The cocking lever is not conveniently positioned for either manipulation or holster carry. It's difficult to obtain parts for ... even more so than for a "normal" HK weapon. Well engineered, too.

Did I mentioned over-priced in most cases?

Definitely ahead of its time, though ...

It would be interesting to have one in a collection, but I wouldn't spend a lot of money to do it ...

One of those curious & interesting concepts that never really caught many shooter's fancy in this country ...

SHOOT a P9S .45?
I did, about 25 years ago.
Since then it seems like all they do is change hands at gun shows for inflated prices.

Back when they were reasonably available, Massad Ayoob campaigned a 9mm Sport for pretty good scores at PPC and had a comp on a .45 for whatever purpose.

I have a 9mm Combat. I received a good deal on it, only paid $400. It's a neat pistol, mainly for it's historical value. It shoots well enough and is accurate, but is not my favorite. Also, parts are a pain to find and expensive when you do.

I've had 2 P9S for 8 or 10 years.
9mm and 45
$350 each.
Also a VP70. Strange gun.

I was shooting the 45 last week.

Nice gun. Very accurate.

They have a "captured" buffer that you need to keep an eye on. If it is worn out there will be breakage.

For me it's too big to carry and besides the only holster I had was lost in a fire.

A few years back I thought about using it as a "car gun" but I've got cheaper guns for that job. :)
