That's a good point.

How much was an annual membership 25 years ago?

I have never considered a life membership because it seems pretty silly in that it would take some 28 years to save any money.

But if the annual cost is really much cheaper now than it will be in 25 years, 1000 bucks might be well worth it.

A Life Memebership through the link in my signature line is only $750.

Or $375 if you are over 65 or have any sort of a VA disability rating!

I was once. Led to marital discord. I'm intrigued by the comment that NRA and NRA-ILA are two completely separate entities. Is this something that is readily apparent from the website and financial statements?

Technically, being an NRA member simply means you are supporting the teaching and instruction of safe gun marksmanship and ownership.

If you want to help protect gun rights, you need to give money to the ILA in order for money to be used in lobbying.

This is true, however, the NRA gets the attention it does because of the strength of it's membership numbers. Just being a member is a positive tool in preserving your rights.

Most folks here, I think. There was a poll a month or two back, and the last time I looked at it I think it was 80% NRA.

I'm a life member. While I haven't always agreed with everything the NRA
has done they are still the biggest and best lobbying group we have to fight
the anti-gun movement.
