EDIT: BUY a GLOCK... AND join the KAHR club!

Welcome to the Kahr club. Let's talk about kahrs.

I apologize to all fellow GLOCKmeisters for posting the original title:

"Why buy a BLOCK when you can join the Kahr club?!" It was just a play on Kahr's slogan. But it is not as familiar as I originally thought. I like GLOCK even more than Kahr. Please don't take away my Kool-Aid (lol :uhoh: )!

I love my Kahr PM9. Great little CCW. It's my go to CCW for summer months. Much easier to conceal than my Glocks and can go in the pocket too.

The most over-hyped, overly-advertised, plain-as-vanilla pistols ever perpetrated on the American public.
Great marketing strategy, the miniaturized, snag-free features to excite the CCW populace.
Unfortunately, these pistols are starting to show the down-size effects in terms of the "law of diminishing" returns...
They are not a 100% reliable by any stretch. I predict they will go down in history with the same breath as Lorcin, Bryco, Jennings, et al...;)

PM40.

Love hate relationship.

The hate:

It is a finicky eater...Feeds Ball ammo easy, or corbon power ball. Doesn't really like HP.

The love:

Disappears on you....just forget you are even wearing it.

Fun to shoot....lets you know you have shot something....BOOM!!!

Accurate for such a short sight radius, nice trigger pull.

Mad M,

While some have had problems with their PM40 or PM9, I haven't had any issues with my PM9. It goes bang every time. It's definitely a carry gun not a range gun. So, it won't get the rounds shot through it like a range gun.

Is it the best 9mm out there? For CCW, it is definitely at or near the top of the list. For range fun, it is way down at the bottom.

MM,
You're comparing Kahr to cheap zinc potmetal $80 guns?? I assume you're being sarcastic or had a really bad experience with a Kahr.

I have an MK9 bought 7 or 8 years ago which is utterly reliable and IMO incredibly designed. Smaller in the pocket than anything else I own in a serious caliber and eats CorBon 115 gr +P JHPs all day long. And the little thing is as accurate at combat distances as my High Powers, CZ, and USP. My only recommendation is use the 7-rd mag or add Pierce mag bottoms to the 6-rounders. Otherwise the pinky is left dangling and the pistol is harder to control.

Worst gun I've ever owned. Will not own another as I wouldn't trust my life on it. It's so unreliable I wouldn't even trade or sell it as I wuldn't want someone else to trust their life on it either. Several trips to factory, they wouldn't replace it and apparantly couldn't fix it.

When I want to pack and must have the smallest, lightest gun with decent potency, I pack my PM-9 which virtually disappears... stone reliable gun for me. I love it. Don't shoot it much. Nothing in it's league. Currently, I pack my new S&W M&P 40 Compact most of the time - incredible gun.

I have a Kahr K-40.

Love it... 100% reliable with FMJ and Speer Gold Dot 147 gr,

easy to carry, easy to conceal. I can literally forget I'm wearing it (which can be bad considering where I live)

I love my P9!

For me it is the perfect ccw.Light small and very accurate.
I am a Sig guy at heart but once I got the Kahr P9 my Sig 239 (and XD sub compact for that matter) became obsolete.
I know people have had problems with their Kahrs but mine has been 100% since the day I bought it.

Has anyone ever heard a complaint about an all-steel Kahr? I know I haven't. I bought a used K9, and it's been a flawless shooter. If I weren't addicted to my wheelies, it would be my EDC.

i have a k-40 and i absolutly love it, the trigger is nice and smooth, it shoots great for a little gun, conceals great, and i love the sights. mine has the ruber houge grips which are great, and makes it a great fitting gun in my hands, it is well balanced and i love the steel framed models which is why i have one. i also have experience with the p40 which i liked but i prefer the steel framed models, and about the swetest one i have ever shot is my dad's k9 elite.

What's wrong with owning both?

A Kahr to compared to my G26, G33, and G19? I'll say this - At least the Kahrs are good looking. However, my 3 G's are the ultimate workhorses. :neener:

Every Thread like this gets shut down and called a 'Hate thread'

...That should give you some idea.

Kahr is a POS, and their 'SO CALLED' "Customer Service" is nonexistant.

Whenever someone, in an attempt to bolster a product they like, has to first insult or make up derogatory comments about another product, my first thought is "what are they hiding with their hyperbole?".

In this case the answer is mediocre performance, poor customer service and a product that's over priced by a considerable margin.

The Kahr is certainly not a junk gun, but does not perform any better than the competing Kel-Tec and Taurus pistols that sell for less than half as much.

After two trips back to the factory, my P45 is totally reliable and stunningly accurate. Customer Service did allright by me.
