Why buy a BLOCK when you can join the KAHR club?!

Because even though Block has sold way more G26's than Kahr has sold of all their pistols I seldom ever see a used G26 sitting in a gunshop used case, but two local shops always seem to have used Kahrs for 400-450 in stock.

I also seldom ever read about a G26 that is unreliable, lots of threads on Kahrs going back to the factory to make them work.

JMHO YMMV

And your point is????

I liked my Kahr PM9 so much I bought a second one, but the minute Glock comes out with a single-stack 9mm sub-sub-compact I'll replace the Kahrs with the Glocks.

CleverNickname:

Check out the new Walther PPS....

Single stack 9mm, just shown at the European Shot Show earlier this month.

It's an ugly little sucker, looks like a Walther P99c somehow broke into the Glock 26 kennel and this is the result..

I don't think if offers enough "difference" for me to give up my favorite Walther P99c/AS, but it's always nice to see new pistols produced, and I love Walthers.

It's a slim 9, and might be worth taking a look at..

Best Wishes,

Golddog:
I have owned a Kahr PM9, and have owned various full sized and compact Glocks.

The PM9 is like a REALLY long and bad revolver trigger.

The Glock has that agervating so called 'safety' and a quicker/shorter reset.

Of the 2 I'd take the Glock even without my 'history' with kahr.

-Please keep in mind I carry a 1911 and most of my semi automatics are single action or single action capable (CZ 75B...)

PX15...

My Google Foo has failed me. Do you have a link to this new Walther?

Re: Kahr - I have a PM9 and several Glocks.
I love how the PM9 carries. I have about 600 rounds through it and I still have some problems.

It seems that it is extremely sensitive to getting dirty and one of the factory mags continually causes malfunctions. My Glocks just keep going bang.

For me, the triggers are no contest - I'd rather have the Glock trigger.

Can we read something specific about the trigger pulls of each, from people who have shot both?

Have examples of both GLOCK factory triggers, and only the elite trigger from kahr.

Weights are similar, but Kahr trigger is smoother, with a much more crisp break, but longer. Much longer in reset as well, which is why I ultimately prefer the GLOCK trigger. But many don't care about reset lenght at all, so ymmv. Kahr is often compared to a revolver trigger, but I don't get that analogy compared to the revolvers I've had.

Kahr: long, smooth, crisp, long reset
GLOCK: shorter, "skids" at the break (or mushy some call it), very short reset

P9, P40, PM40, T9 - all wonderfully reliable and preferred CCW weapons (P40, PM40)...

Awesome butter-smooooooooooth trigger, light weight, thin design...

What's not to like?

Hard to improve on perfection!:)

welcome newest Kahr Club enthusiast: dhoomonyou!

I am guessing you couldn't resist the lure of the "Kahr Club" moreso out of a knee-jerk response toward my (marginally) clever play on Kahr's "Why/BLOCK" slogan in the title more than anything else (I would hope no one is otherwise that insecure :uhoh: )?

This is just so weird, because I've never actually been at the business end of a frothing glockophile. Now I can TOTALLY feel 1911 guys' pain; for they cope with our collective GLOCKitude on a daily basis. And for that I sincerely apologize on behalf of all glockers, will keep it in mind, and temper my arguments accordingly in the future. This is like looking in the mirror of truth, Neverending Story style.

Please note, I have a couple of BLOCKS myself, and would be just as big a ****** if I didn't admit they outperform my kahr in every respect save concealability. GLOCKS are by far my faves, and the only brand I've kept two of):

So I officially retract the funny title, and for the record:

GLOCK>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Kahr

+1 to the poster above who thinks Glock should make a single stack 9mm. I can't believe they HAVEN'T yet. I have shot and liked a Glock 26, but it's just not svelte enough for pocket carry. I have 2 SIGs for IWB.

After purchasing a S&W 442, I have really gotten "into" pocket carry in certain situations. There are times when I wish the 442 was a tad thinner, though, and for those times I bought a Kahr PM9.

It seems Kahr's are so variable in their quality. Some folks have no troubles, others have nothing but trouble. It makes me really appreciate my SIGs, which are boring in comparison. They just go bang.

I got lucky with my PM9. I bought it used, from a dealer I trust. The guy who traded it in is a very good customer, and just wasn't carrying it. I don't know what (or if anything) he did to the PM9, but it runs like a top. It does like cleanliness, and it's not a pistol you'll shoot 500 rounds through a day. That's what my SIGs are for.

Re: Trigger. Personally, I *much* prefer this Kahr's trigger to any Glock I've ever shot. Glock triggers are fine, I'm sure, once you get used to them... But I'll take this long smooth pull over the short "ratchety" (to me) feeling Glock pull. In the store, I wasn't really thrilled with the Kahr trigger... But on the range I like it alot. It is very conducive to accurate shooting, in my hands at least. Yeah, I'm quicker with my 1911's or my SIG in SA. But not much, and I really like the way this one breaks. I tend to like shorter rather than longer triggers, but I'd take smooth as a baby's bottom over gritty anyday. I do like DA revolvers, though, so YMMV.

For what it is, though, a slim, light, pocketable 9mm... It's in a class of its own at the moment. I hope other manufacturers take up the challenge, I'd like to see Kahr's prices come down, as I believe them to be overpriced. My $739 SIG P239 is a much nicer pistol than this $749 PM9. Unfortunately SIG doesn't make one this small. So I own the Kahr.

Lots of comparisons here between the PM9 and Glock 26. For me, I'll buy a subcompact only if it fits in the pocket. The Kahr does and the Glock doesn't unless you're wearing clown pants. For a belt-carried gun, I'd probably go with a G19.

I realized this weekend that my PM9 was feeling a little neglected because I have been carrying the Keltec and Walther way more lately... So I loaded a magazine, popped it in,chambered a round, topped of the mag, I am on day 3 of carrying the Kahr. I love how she shoots, I love her accuracy too. :)

I think the PM series is flirting with the edge of diminishing returns being a far enough departure from the 1st design (smaller + polymer) to have more reliability problems...like ultra small 1911's. My K9 is absolutely flawless and a great CCW. Sure it weighs 25 oz (which isn't that much), but it is still only .9" wide.

Justin Moon is an excellent and innovative firearms designer...in the greatest American tradition, I could care less which church he privately gives money too. What religion is Gaston Glock? Maybe he is a closet Druid...that would be cool.:uhoh:

The trigger pull is around 6-7lbs and really smooth, like a tuned revolver trigger. The downside is it has a very long reset. I like it better than a Glock trigger from press to BANG!, then the Glock trigger smokes it to reset.

The Glock 36 is single-stack.

Let me mention- since some seem to have forgotten the Forum Rules at upper right of the screen- that I will joyfully ban members who have nothing better to do than speak badly of legal religions. If you alienate allies, you don't get to be my friend.

COME ON, guys- why the bloody blue blazes would we not want others who share our firearm convictions on our side politically? Why the hell would any thinking gun owner shoot themself in the metaphorical foot that way?

I've got three Kahrs (P9, K40, MK9). None have ever given me a problem. I love them all.

Glock....Love that one too. But it is night and day in terms of concealabilty.

The most over-hyped, overly-advertised, plain-as-vanilla pistols ever perpetrated on the American public.
Great marketing strategy, the miniaturized, snag-free features to excite the CCW populace.
Unfortunately, these pistols are starting to show the down-size effects in terms of the "law of diminishing" returns...
They are not a 100% reliable by any stretch. I predict they will go down in history with the same breath as Lorcin, Bryco, Jennings, et al...

Tell us how you really feel!:D

I love my MK9 - it has been very reliable since break-in, and I carry it often. The Kahr fits an important niche in the firearm continuum for me - slightly larger than my Keltec, so it's easy to conceal, but chambered in a more powerful cartridge. It's much easier for me to conceal than a Glock, with a better trigger in my opinion. Easy to shoot, compact, great trigger - Lorcin etc. are not even in the same ballpark as Kahr.

My P9 has been reliable over many practice sessions and several years of CCW, at least after the break-in period. The trigger is as smooth as Glocks I have had and still have, but a little heavier, with a longer reset and a little less sharp break. Definitely not a target pistol; it's sometimes a challenge to keep them all in the nine and ten rings (nothing magic, just my personal standard).

For me, if it weren't for the small form factor and weight -- it's much easier for me to conceal -- I'd stick with the G29 or a 1911 all the time. More firepower, better ergos, more accurate.

So, the Kahr is an acceptable deep concealment option.

A year ago April I came upon a CW9. I had seen advertisements for them but never a real one. As soon as I picked it up I noticed how "just right" it felt in my hand, the grip, the balance, and the trigger. I closed my eyes, stretched out my arms, and opened them again to find a perfect sight picture! I bought it as a now and then CCW substitute for my S&W snubnose. It turned out to be my favorite of what I currently own, and probably the best 9mm I've ever owned (past-Walther, Ruger, S&W, CZ, and Glock). All this for only $400 OTD. Two more mags at half price from Ebay and I was set.

During the year 2006 I fired the Kahr over 1,700 times, three times more than any of my other guns. In fact, I enjoyed it so much the Glock G19 I owned for two years got sold-Bye to spongy trigger, fat grip, strange grip angle that made me bend my wrist down all the time, and less accuracy.

Here I am a year later and the CW9 is STILL my favorite. I don't carry it much, preferring the .38, but for range time it's my immediate first choice. When I think about fun shooting it's the first gun to come to mind.

Sure, as with many poly Kahrs, I had occasional FTF's until around the 400 rnd mark, but since then it's been totally reliable. It guards my downstairs family room where my wife and I watch movies (.38 snubs cover upstairs).

I like its simple form, thin grip, design, precision manufacture, velvet DA trigger, even the name and the stainless steel mags are kinda cool. One of these days I'm going to buy the fancier P9, and a stainless K9. I was walking thru a gun show last weekend and when I came upon a display of CW and P9's I couldn't help but smile, these pistols always have that effect on me. Everything about them is a delight.

I really love my early model G17. It always goes bang.

I really love my G26. I shoot it even better than the G17, and it always goes bang.

I carry a Kahr PM9 in my pocket every day. The Glocks are great, reliable firearms, but too thick and too large to pocket carry. The PM9 has been great, no failures of any kind after the first few rounds.
