why guns?

A few points.....

1. Tell me a profession where every single individual who works in it is 100% perfect. Don’t waste your time trying. It’s not possible.

2. Cops cannot put you in prison. Only a judge can.

3. Not all Democrats are liberals. But all liberals are Democrats.

4. There is still proactive policing. Any statement to the contrary is foolish and ignorant.

5. LE has absolutely no duty to protect YOU.

6. When cops are out doing their job, who’s protecting their family?

7. The word “friend” is often misused to more correctly describe a buddy or acquaintance. I trust my “friends” completely.

8. Mistrust isn’t the best way to have trust reciprocated.

9. Guns still aren’t the problem. Criminals are. An honest, law abiding person, will never intentionally harm you.

10. Be mindful of who you speak to and what you say.

If you want to find a liberal/progressive that is solidly behind the Second Amendment.....look no further than Alan Dershowitz :what:

My formal training is in LE. I personally know a good many officers. I absolutely trust THOSE ones. A family member of mine who is a police officer doesn’t even trust the police of different departments. Kind of comical but not uncommon. Superiority complex of training I suppose between state and local agencies.

Yes it is! Where I grew up, there was some good-natured ribbing between county, city, and state departments. I grew up in a family of cops, and even then experienced a couple of bad apples and unfair treatment.

But when I moved to Arizona, the inter-agency fighting was serious. There were news reports of the county officers (remember Sheriff Joe?) targeting Phoenix Metro officers with traffic citations, and vice versa. They were like warring tribes. It was pretty sad.

Everybody generalizes too much ;)

I will unequivocally state that everyone has broken laws at some time in her/his life. Example: Get up at 3:00 AM, drive out to the goose pits for some pass shooting, and at mid morning get a visit from wildlife officers along with a citation for violating game laws. You later learn that some farmer a few miles inland had more corn than what the feds consider to be normal lying on the ground. The law does not require that you had knowledge of this. Hunting in the flight path violates the law.

So relax. It's like flatulence-inconvenient but once you acknowledge that no one is perfect you can get on with life.
OK.....got your point, you outlaw. Me, too.
Makes me wonder, though, what it would take for a person not to break any laws ever.

That sounds strangely similar to that new show "Deputy" on Thursday nights. Only this is set in L.A.

Oddly, there are quite a number of liberals who support 2A. Check out www.liberalgunclub.com. They have a forum too portions of its members are in CA. The group has been quite active in fighting the ridiculous laws of that state.
AND I'll say it again..there are a LOT of middle of the political bell curve, un-affiliaated, voters who are on the fence about a LOT of things..A LOT of them own guns, shoot often, EDC, quite a number support the 2A...
Whether it's feels like a good idea or not, calling them names, getting in their face, do RKBA 'demonstrations' like shouldering an AR in a park and strolling around waiting for a confrontation with LEO..Just gives the 'other side' ammunition(sorry)....IMHO....

Why guns?
Because people get all upset when I go around wearing a sword and main gauche and carrying a bow, spear, lance, crossbow or battleaxe, even when I'm in full armor.

Why don't I automatically trust police officers?
Because I don't automatically trust people, and, last I heard, police officers are people.
I certainly wouldn't trust any of my family members who are or were police officers... .
