To those here that know me and consider me a friend-

It seems that some dip-dip I work with, while at work, looked at something he wasn't supposed to on the ol' internet. He lost a 250,000/yr job. The FBI is involved. AND our management REALLY threw the screws down tight on what websites are allowed at work. THR isn't one of them, nor anything else firearms related.

Since I have no other relaible/close source for the internet, I'm guessing I'll be checking in maybe monthly, at best.

It's been fun, see ya all 'round.(just not as much:( ).

What did he browse?

WHO CARES,
Did they fill the position yet???????????

Seems like every place and its brother has freebie wi-fi lately

Be aware that public wifi spots are a wet dream come true for hackers and thieves. Capturing unencrypted wireless traffic and/or setting up an "evil twin" attack to capture everything you do is as easy as flipping a light switch.

HAHA ROFL LOL IRL HAHA

Heck, I know of one guy who got fired because an e-mail snooper saw he was getting tonzo porno spam.

Yup. Basically fired over spam.

So if you get a gnarsty hunka gelatinous pork product at work, immediately e-mail (get it on record) the IT folks and complain...

Remember, company computers and internet access are company property. Some companies may allow use of the PCs and internet during non-working hours.
If your company has an internet policy (most larger companies do, I think), you can expect to be tracked.
Personal use of the internet, if prohibited, is theft of company property and you may be terminated even if it's an innocent non-sexual site.
If it's a site that provides illegal services (child porn is a good example) and the individual is tracked, the LE's are going to, at minimum, disrupt the company internet and intranet for as long as it takes to gather evidence.

That's the way it is, gents and ladies. If you cannot get internet access at home (which I find hard to believe anymore), you can normally do it at a library.

BTW, if you do get spam (porn or otherwise) at work, report it to your IT department. Save yourself a lot of grief.

It's been a while, but I'm back. Broke down and got a wireless card. Feels good. Gotta go. (Gotta play with the search function to see what I missed!!) :D

sorry to hear that man. I just recently got THR back at work.

Someone at my work got an email about child porn and they FBI came to check it out as well. Pretty crazy stuff.

Hope they let you surf THR soon
