I have a 2.75" Stainless Speed Six in very good condition. Just bought a 3" Wiley Clapp Stainless. I know this sounds strange, but I don't feel the need for both. This is a general car / carry gun. I have a good belt / hoslter system for each. I actually carry a 4" GP more often than the Speed Six. If you could keep one which would it be?

Your probably gonna get alot of votes for the classic but I'd go with the Wiley Clapp. They are slick and it would be easier to get ahold of a security /speed six again than it would be a wiley clapp Gp100 and cheaper. All the wiley gp's are over 600 on gun broker and the speed 6's are 4'ish. Last summer (pre crazy days) I bought a security six for my dad for $350 in like new condition orginal box and box it was shipped in. They had 2 one 2inch and one 4inch both $350 both came from an estate sale I am thinking cuz both were in same condition.

If it's going to be a car/carry gun, I'd use the speed-six. Keep both if you can, but if one's got to go, I'd sell the Wiley Clapp GP100. Oops, that sounds funny coming from me, because I'm a huge GP100 fan!

Why get rid of 'em?

And yes, one day I'll get a Willy Clapp GP100 to.

I am going to say keep both. I love my Ruger GP100 and am still kicking myself for a couple of other Rugers I have sold.

I would keep the Speed Six. I never really cared for the GP 100 and much preferred my "six's. They balance better to me.

Well there is no wrong answer. Both are great. I do find that the GP is a bit overbuilt, so I voted for the Speed-Six. Especially since you have a 4" GP.
But if possible, do keep both.

Both are awesome guns. I would not trade my GP100 on any day for a Speed six... unless I was actually going to carry it.

I hate to admit this but I would keep the Speed 6 if it was going to be used as a carry gun.

Its a tough call. If it was me I'd keep both, but I'm a bit of a collector/hoarder. It sounds like you think you would get more use out of the Wiley Clapp than the Speed Six? I might actually consider getting rid of the 4-inch GP100 instead of the Wiley Clapp or the Speed Six. In any case, if I could only keep one, I'd keep the one I think I'll get the most use out of.

I voted "Speed 6", mostly because it sounds like a cool old hot rod motor from the late 1940's. :)

Yes, that's what I'm thinkng.

Keep both and buy another GP100 with 4" barrel.

Seriously, you should have more than one gun that fit in the same holster. I was gunless for awhile when my first SIG P220 broke. Use one on the range and one for carry. If one breaks, send the broken gun to the 'smith and carry the other. It works out nicely.

Besides, you'll have a carry gun, range gun, car gun and bedroom gun. Or, you can do your "Outlaw Josey Wales" imitation and carry all four simultaneously. It just doesn't look right with only three.

there's an option.

I have 2 GP's in 3", with one being a WC. I CC them both with no problem. With the old style rubber/wood insert compact grips they are my single favorite handgun ever. I have had a few speed sixes in the past. Great guns, just prefer the 3" GP's more. I did vote to keep them both though, because I do regret at least not keeping at least 1 SS.

I've actually really wanted a 3" GP for a while. Then I saw the WC and held one. Liked it, but not enough to bring it home. Then, as I've been carrying the revolver more I figured it's time to finally get one after years of wanting. So, I decided to go a little special since the WC was available. I'm looking forward to getting it home once it arrives at the ffl.

That's my vote, assuming you can't or just don't want to keep both. I've never cared for the GP 100 at all, but the "six" series are one of my favorites. The GP 100 is "just another gun" to me.
