We're now firmly into the later phase of the "generations of buyers" who remain to have had young experiences with these rifles combined with sufficient disposable income (or otherwise wastable debt service) to have interest in buying them. If someone were to prey on that nostalgia, now is the time, but the margin is too thin, and cost to redevelop, market, and retool to produce them just doesn't pan out. What do we see in those markets? We see extremely high priced Marlins/Rugers and Miroku/Winchesters which defy their roots as "everyman's rifles," and only survive on high sticker prices to sustain margins on limited sales.
Of course, the Rem 760/7600's making a comeback has the additional wrinkle of being lost in the settling dust of successive bankruptcies and sell-offs of the Remington brand and IP, and under the current ownership, I just don't see the two-faced crooks which are the RemArms owners making any such plays in the niche market of the pump rifle.
