a cousin of mine has 2 model 94's that were his dad's but one of the buttstocks on it is broken. where could i find a replacement buttstock?

I think there are a number of places - one is ebay (internet auctions) as there generaly are parts like that for sale there.

Others include gun parts houses such as Numrich (gun parts corp) or other internet available places like Brownells , Bobs Gun Shop at : [email protected] or do a web search for Winchester gun parts or gun stocks .

The stocks changed sometime around the second world war. Look up the serial number online to see when it was made. I don't think there was another change in 64 on butt stocks

Cabela's sells a different stock for pre- and post-1964.

Cabela's stocks are drop-in and finished. You can also get unfinished stocks from Boyd's, et al. Personally, I'd take the opportunity to get something pretty, if the gun's still nice. Depends what you use it for.

Numrich sells some factory stocks for a good deal cheaper ($35 for an uncheckered walnut buttstock). Maybe you can find a perfect match: http://www.e-gunparts.com/DisplayAd.asp?chrProductSKU=587630&chrSuperSKU=&MC=

Or Boyd's, if you want to pretty up the gun some.
