If anyone knows where I can obtain either of the two stocks I'm looking for, pls let me know.

I'm looking for two original Winchester stocks, one for a Winchester 52C Standard Target and the other a Winchester 70 Pre-64 Post War. Details below.

Winchester 52C
I am (trying) to restore an early Winchester 52C with bull barrel. The gun was used by a serious competitive shooter in the 1940's and early 50's. He modified the original stock with a custom cheek pad and an embedded gold medal award. His widow sold me the gun minus the embedded award. The award inlay size was about 150% greater than a silver dollar and about as deep as a silver dollar is thick. The cheek pad was held on to the stock with two large wood screws. So, the stock is not restorable to original factory appearance. I've been looking for some time to find a replacement stock but so far to no avail. I've tried Numich and others. Though I could probably have a new stock made, I'd really like to restore it back to original Winchester components.

The stock was somewhat uncommon. There were 3 stock configurations of bull barrel 52's sold in the late 30's and 40's. The stock I have was called the "standard target model". It has a barrel band that completely encircles the forearm and barrel about 2" from the tip of the forearm. It's similar to the original "military" stock that was found on the early 52 A's but is bulkier and with the shorter "nose". I've got a Shooters Bible from 1940 that has a Winchester ad that show's the stock as one of the 3 options available at the time. From my search results to date it appears that the heavier beaver tail forearm version was the most common sold.

If anyone has a candidate, I have a jpg picture of the stock to compare if it would be the proper one. I'd like to see if I can get this fine old gun back to the condition it was when the old gentleman originally bought the gun.

Winchester 70 Pre-64 Post War

I have a model 70 30-06 with a hacked up Bishop stock I'd like to replace with the original Winchester standard grade monte carlo. I need the Monte Carlo version as this rifle is scoped and the standard stock was set up for open sights.

Thanks
