My Winchester 94 (357mag, late model with hammer-stopper safety) locked up at the range today. Action would only open about 1/8 inch. Got it apart, cleaned it, reassembled it. Only problem the tray/tongue which raises the next cartridge from the magazine tube does not raise when the lever is actuated.
Probably I am not correctly catching the tail of a spring wire which lies along the right side of the action.
A clue would be appreciated.
Alternatively, the Nov/Dec issue of American Rifleman had an article on disassembly which, were I as wise then as I am now, I would have scanned in to the hard drive. Are back issues archived anywhere on line?
thanks.
