Does anyone know if this has been discontinued? I haven't seen it at Wallyworld in a while and Midway has it listed "Out of stock, no backorder".

My 10/22 loves this stuff. I only have 1 2/3 boxes left. :(

Chris,

I love this stuff too (many on the forums agree) and you're right about lack of availability. Only managed to secure one box in the past few months. I bought it at the Manassas Wally World off exit 47.

Bummer. I guess I'll be buying it as I find it to build up a stash.

Chris - wern't you and I talking about this a few months ago? I couldn't find any reference to it though.

I've only got 3 2/3 boxes left myself. I'll be checking the WM in Warrenton in the next few days. If they have some, want me to get you what they have?

We were talking about how hard it was to find, but at that time the WMs in my area carried it, just not a lot at once.

Yeah, once you get enough for yourself, pick up a few for me. I'll take up to 5. Just make sure you take care of your needs first. :)

Dynapoints

I wanted some for my CZ452 after seeing the rave reviews on it at rimfirecentral.com. I kept waiting to see it at a walmart, but it never showed up. I finally ordered some from Midway and got it promptly. Bit pricier than at walmart, but it lived up to the press. I shot it for the first time at a 100 yd target, shooting a 1 in diameter hole with a whole lot of shots. Had only a 3-4 outside the hole by a bit.

FYI, the counter person at the Wally World on Liberia Ave said they will take orders on any ammo they do not have in stock but have in their catalog. Pretty good chance Dynapoints are in it. Might be worth a shot as the store is in your neck o' the woods.

According to the Winchester website under the FAQ:

Question: Where can I find Dynapoint 22's?
Answer: The Dynapoint is the same cartridge as the WW22LR which should be available at most retailers. Specs can be found here.

WW22LR is the 40 gr. Wildcat® Lead Round Nose, which is not the same as the dynapoint. Sounds like it may be out of production. I just called 6 area Wallmarts and every one of them said "we used to carry it, but not anymore."

Unfortunately, it's the same story at the Warrenton WM. "Looks like we don't have any in stock." However, to show the expertise they have working at the sporting goods counter - after asking for the Dynapoints in .22LR, he first said, "sure" and promptly brought out a box of 50 Dynapoint Magnums. I pointed out that they were .22 magnums and got an "Oh" in return. Sheesh! Usually the counter folks are more knowledgeable at that WM than that.

Doesn't shoot for beans

in my Model 52s or 77/22. But Win. Power Point makes quarter-inch 5-shot groups at 50 yd. Check it out.

Check out the local Mom & Pop gun stores. Often times they have it, or their distributors can get it. I used to get it this way from a Pawn Shop Buddy and another Mom & Pop before they died/ retired and closed.

My Last trip back from PA, I made some inquiries and using the Internet. Stopped just as I left PA and bought 10 bricks. In KY 5 more bricks and north of Knoxville another 10 bricks. Had a buddy in TX having difficulty finding it...he was down to 30 bricks. :p Seems his two kids were really getting into this rimfire kid competition stuff and "dang kids, how come their guns shoot what mine like?".

Yeah my gas mileage was a little less on the return trip...must have been the Dynapoints, it could not have been the cases of Shotgun shells, handgun ammo or the few guns that followed me home. ;)

Standard Velocity these Dynas work great. For the general all purpose high velocity the X22LR are great, and the PowerPoint (HP) are great, these are more readily avail here.

I inquired and searched for Rifle shooters, and figured these folks would have a line on Accurate .22 ammo. One M&P catered to these and Bulls-Eye folks. No shotgun stuff to speak of...but accuracy / long range shooters instead.

Maybe Tamara, or some of our other "will work for shell casings" folks can offer some distributors , or can in fact order for folks.

I read Winchester is moving its plant or some sort of logistical change like that, and dynapoints should be available again in January. This is forum 'knowledge', so take it for what its worth.

I love dynapoints, and miss them:cool:

That's good news, if true. I'll not start worrying until Feb then. I have enough to last at least until this summer.

Just bought a couple of boxes at the Wally World at the north side of CO Springs.
They had about a dozen boxes. Clerk said they get them in on a regular basis.
