Hey guys, recently dug out a Winchester model 12 my grandfather had. It hasn't seen a shell in several years, but it's been stored properly and is in good condition.
Checked the serial, 5 digits beginning in 545 which I believe makes it a 1913 production year..and 100 Years old.
I checked it over with a fine tooth comb and found no major blems other than a small spot of corrosion.
Before I broke it down, I noticed this on the magazine tube right where the action stops.. I assume its a split in the magazine tube. Any ideas if its lost a lot of value? I'm going to keep the gun for sure, might take it out once in a while... I assume since its the magazine tube, its okay to use still for some occasional trap. Kinda bummed me out to see this had happened. Who knows when it happened..lol
