Winchester Model 250 Lever Action

I have taken this 22 apart except I cannot figure out how to remove the front stock. There was pin in the front plastic sight which I removed but the sight and magazine mount are one piece and it looks like the it is fitted to the barrel. Anyway, does anyone have any ideas on how to remove the front stock so I can refinish it?

removal of handguard

there should be a pin in the "sight mount" just above the magazine tube. drit this out and pull the mag tube out and the forend will come off. the tube holds it on the gun
