winchester model 61 value

    Need help here at work, i have websensed here at work and am trying to find out the age and value of a winchester model #61 serial #617** , Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

    The gun dates to 1945. Those have collector interest and in top condition an ordinary one can bring as high as $1000, more for guns marked "WRF", with octagon barrels, or in .22 WMR.

    I believe 61,7xx would be 1946.

    My book shows:
    #60,512 was last number at the end of 1945.
    #71,629 was last number at the end of 1946.

    Condition, caliber and any special features would greatly influence the value.
