I'm thinking about one of these in 30-06. Are they available and if so, what distributor handles them?
    Thanks

They are available...not sure about distributors though....when I bought my M70, I just went to the gunshop and had them order it.

If you're gonna change the stock...there is no reason to pay for the Supergrade, get the cheaper one.

Also, the Ultimate Shadows and Sporters don't have the high gloss finish...they are matte blue, still blued..just not polished to a shine, better for a hunting rifle IMO.

I really like my Winchester...and don't see me owning anything else as long as they keep building them like they are. They are a great foundation for a custom...

Sports South has them in stock, try the dealer locator on their website.

I've found a couple that claim to have them in stock and are ffl friendly with a local dealer.

No Supergrades for sale around here, heck I could not even find a sporter, but I did find my Featherweight 308 (NIB) on sale for stupid cheap. I would tell you how cheap, but everyone on here would call me a lair.
I highly recommend the Winchester it is the only rifle in my safe that rivals my Tikka for my favorite. I LOVE the Mauser style action, love the trigger, love the walnut stock, and love the tight little groups.
Word of caution though my Model 70 is very picky about what it likes to shoot, Federal blue box and Winchester PP did not group worth a darn, but 150gr Speer, 165gr SST, and 168gr Ballistic Tip handloads were fantastic! For factory ammo it ONLY liked 150gr Core-lokts everything else was a shotgun pattern.

Found one. The Scope is a Leupold fixed six power. Nobody recommends a fixed power over a variable now but I wanted one anyway. There is at least a possibility that simpler might still be more reliable.

It handles really well. the recoil pad makes shooting completely comfortable. and the MOA trigger appears to be as good as the Winchester/FN USA send ups claim.

    Nice looking rifle.

For those in the same boat, Buds and CDNN usually have them.

One of my best friends bought that very rifle earlier this year, from Kevin's in Tallahassee. Friend has a penchant for buying "purdy" firearms.

I saw the ones at Buds and elsewhere. My local dealer was willing to do a transfer but also looked to his distributors and found this one.

You've got a better local dealer than I do. Glad it worked out for you. I've been eyeballing the Model 70 Supergrade rifles in 25-06 CDNN has had on sale now and then for a while. The ad states something about engraving (maybe a special edition) but I have no idea what that is. I'll get a wild hair and join you in the club one of these days. Congrats.

I went to a gunshop in NC and found a rack filled with assorted Featherweights and Super Grades and the SG was a knockout. A fine shootin' iron, but one of the Featherweights was $699.99 and that was more in line with my budget! I took home an 'o6.

The distributor my dealer contacted had one of these and three or four of the engraved models. Some of the engraved ones are 75 anniversary and Cabela's has a special one too. The engraving and whatever else the do adds several hundred dollars to the price. From what I can see, the floor plate is nicely done. the picture I saw of the receiver wasn't all that detailed but it looked kind of like the generic, machine cut engraving that shows up on a lot of current guns. Not ugly but not something that would demand a big premium.
I don't know how many of these they produce but I suspect its not exactly a mass-market item.

The Cabelas Super Grade Featherweight is an awesome configuration, but it only comes in 270WSM.

Searching around for pics I'm pretty sure the ones CDNN is/was selling must be the 75th Anniversary editions Mec mentioned above.

Link to ad for reference to pics
