Thanks Bubba, but those of us who didn't just buy a first Saiga 2 weeks ago and start 5 threads/day know where to get cheap ammo, and what cheap ammo really is.

There will probably be a drop in AR and 'AK' clone prices soon.
Many of the semi-auto rifle scalpers will face selling at a loss, if they wait a while.

:D A pity.

Probably one reason why the prices came down.

Then they have seen the error of their ways, an I feel like an idiot because less than 12hrs ago I paid 7.99 for a box.

Hell, brass cased Monarch ammo sells for $10.99 at Academy. I canceled an order for 500 rounds of Winchester which I bought from somewhere else, because I realized I was paying WAY too much. I think prices will level out VERY soon. I think Fall will be the time to buy AWs and such. Now what I really want is my stupid .22LR suppressor to get here!

that's what I am talking about $175.00 for a case of good ole, made with vodka soaked hands, Rusky (Soviet) ammo, that can feed the hungry little AK. Along with the 129.00 for the 5.45.39 stuff that was around a while back.

Would be nice to be able to afford taking the family shooting at the range again. Gonna save some pennies in hopes of price drops or big sales coming up.

$10.69 @ Academy? I have been buying Monarch at Academy (in McKinney since it was open, and the one in Plano) for no more than $5.69/20 for the duration of the "emergency"--that is no shipping, 1/2 mile from the house. I even got about 10 boxes of Wolf MC for $3.99/20 at Dicks about 2 months ago in Allen Texas.

CTD can go eat it for all their price jacking..

Cheaper my butt..

Ammoman tried to keep prices down all along. They will get my business. So did Aummunition To Go. Even Midway and Cabelas sold some stuff cheap when no one else was. If I want to buy anything it will be from them.

BTW I think this thread was very informative. I don't care who started it.

I'd have to agree on this - it's brought out the worst in some of the dealers, the ones who would happily sell something at ten times its actual value. I've got burned more times than I care to remember, and whoever did that is on my "don't ever buy from" list forever. The other stores - Bud's, Aim, Midway, etc. did try to keep prices down. Some others, including CTD, have just been ridiculous. Especially some local stores.
