I had a long-winded reply written up and scrapped it. I have a PT1911 and I have found that some of the nay-sayers here don't seem to have a clue what they are talking about. I'm glad I did not listen to them. My new shooting trophy is one reason for that.

Yes, I'd buy it. I own one. I've put 500 rounds through it without a problem. I haven't had to use Taurus customer service but I tend to just take all my guns to a gunsmith that I trust. He is very good at customer service.

For a range gun or a platform to build up on, sure, I'd buy one. But to defend my life with, the way it is out of the box, absolutely no way.
