Wow. This looks like a fun place to go. Its like Disneyland for a gun nut.

It's still being finished, but I've shot several matches there. There will be a 360 degrees shooting range eventually, long and short rifle and pistol ranges, a clubhouse, etc. I'm thinking of taking a rifle class there.

It is going to be an awesome facility.

That's nice but what the hell is a gun nut? A crazed individual with a gun? An insane gun owner? An unstable gun owner? A crazy person that owns firearms? Are you meaning to say that you're a gun nut?

I don't understand why some people do it. That really shows us in a good light for all to see. I've said it before and I'll say it again. A gun owner, a gun enthusiast, a gun collector, a gun hobbiest...? Yes. I'm all of these. I'M NOT A GUN NUT!!!! You can be a gun nut but keep it to yourself. That is a term best used by the antis to describe gun owners. We don't need fellow gun owners imparting the term on us! There is nothing flattering, cute, nice, endearing, cool or complimentary about the term to a gun owner. It seems to be the fad today for supposed fellow firearms owners to refer to our group in this negative manner especially in this day and age. We have enough enemies and negative publicity.

I cannot in good faith quit using a term like gun nut for anyone, and I cannot keep it to myself. I am a gun nut and any anti that thinks I am crazy is welcome to that opinion. Their hatred only makes me stronger. The last thing I will do is change my ways for them or anyone else.

I wanna go there. Anyone who want training with a gun would be nuts not to take advantage of this place. That place is WAAAAY cool. When I win the lottery, that will be my back yard.

That place is all of 2 hours away for me. I was trying to get some friends to commit to going with me for a couple classes but then was laid off.

*Sigh*

Hopefully I'll find another job in the area and will still be able to go there easily.

And which faith would that be where in you call yourself degrading names? I don't think I could ever be a member of your faith's congregation. (Yeah I know, breaks my heart too.) Well, I'm glad you're proud of what you consider yourself to be. To each his own I guess.

I'll go you one better, I'm a REDNECK Gun Nut!

Wow! Now that sounds like an interesting kind of gun nut. Could you define the term redneck as it pertains to being a gun nut? I'd like to know just in case I'm ever asked what a redneck, gun nut is. I hate being in the dark and you never know when something like this might come up in a diner conversation.

The term redneck is a term the upper classes came up with. We are people that work hard usually outdoors getting our necks sunburned. Is how the term Redneck got is start. It seems the white collar think they are better. But we work hard, play hard, and live life to the fullest. We are honest and straight shooting with our words and our guns. We believe in God, Guts and Guns, not in Politicians, welfare and laziness.

Nuff said Y'all

Outlaws...I am a "gun nut" too but for the betterment of our position refer to yourself as a "firearms enthusiast". I know how you feel; I hate the PC crap too, but in the end - it will serve us better!

Hokkmike,

I disagree that PC-ness wil serve us better in the long run. I don't wish to veer this thread off topic, so I'll leave it at that.

Outlaws,

It is good to see more firearm training facilities up and running. Has anyone been to this place?

-----

I'm a gun-nut, airplane-nut, and burrito-nut.

I haven't been there. But if they offer something for less than the standard multi-thousand dollar training that is only a couple days, I would consider it. I don't have the cash to pay a thousand dollars for 8 hours of sniper training or tactical shotgunning.

I am just happy to see these kinds of things popping up around the country. I think gun nuts and redneck gun nuts win in the long run with this.

Wrong. I guess you never heard of the "Redneck Miners" from Ludlow?

It doesn't really matter a bit though. My point is that we (as gun owners) get enough bad publicity we don't deserve and get refered to as low life types, mental midgets and the like by the liberal mainstream. We get depicted as a group of one with no diversity and of course we're all fairly uneducated and potentially dangerous too. I don't feel the need to worsen our cause by shooting ourselves in the foot (so to speak) by calling ourselves something as demeaning as any kind of a "nut". We as a group though are in the struggle of a lifetime to preserve not only our hobby and way of life but to save our civil liberties. I don't take this struggle lightly.

we heard you the first time now its time to take the high road !!!!!
I am a gun nut and with that I mean I love guns. You see it a different way so lets move on.

Well that looks like a really fun place to play.

And it's only 2 hours away from me also. lol.

Does everything have to be dissected and analyzed, proof read and sanitized around here? I sure wouldn't be offended being called a gun nut, or a gearhead or anything else that amounts to basically a nick-name.

that would be cool to spend some time doing some training at a place like that

BobMcG,

Please quit posting in my thread if you have nothing positive to add to the topic at hand. I don't want the moderators closing this thread because you are repeatedly taking it OT. If you don't like our vocabulary, take it up with the moderators.

Only 40 minutes from my house. planning on taking a course after the first of the year. Don't know what prices are like at the Big places but for the basic 2 day courses the ammo is gonna cost you near as much as the course.
