I purchased a CZ P-07 for home defense, but I am seriously rethinking this. I am wondering specifically about Stoeger's new Coach Gun or something similiar. What is the good, the bad and the ugly of this, please?

The good thing about the Stoeger coach gun, simple to load and operate.

The bad thing about it is, you are limited to only two shots at a time, so you'll get to practice reloading a lot. My choice would be a good pump action shotgun that holds 4-6 rounds. I have a Remington 870 Express Magnum and Benelli Super Nova Tactical. I retired the 870 to the safe as a back up shotgun and the Super Nova is now my primary HD weapon.

I think that the old side by

is a good choice for home defense. I know you are limited to two shots but it is still a formidable weapon, which commands respect from anyone at whom it is pointed. It is simple to operate and just about as reliable as anything can be. Even if you should be in a situation with more than two home invaders, I doubt very much that any of them will be volunteering to be one of the two you can shoot. Should the mere sight of the gun alone not be enough to discourage them, a well placed shot will probably change their minds.

1) Most any shotgun will do for defensive work, if YOU will do.

2) There are no hardware solutions for software problems.

3) Repeat...
