Wulf Needs a new scope......

Ya know....now that I've thought about this.......
I think I'm looking for the wrong optic for THIS gun and RIGHT NOW.

Having to avoid long turrets makes the idea of buying a cross-platform long-range scope foolish I think.....And I HAVE my Forge on a fairly capable long-range rig which I'm happy with, and probably even happier because they are together.

I'm gonna go back and edit my original post, but what I THINK makes the most sense is a hunting specific optic capable of reaching out beyond my comfortable range. That fits my feelings for this rig better and It also changes expectations a bit.

So for those not desiring to go re-read my first post, here we go again.

Primarily windage turret can be no longer than 3/4" and preferably capped.
Must be MOA based, and matching.
Must have accurate adjustments, and/or an evenly graduated reticle. They don't have to easily adjust on the fly tho.
Must have 14+ on the top end, which also dictates focusability, and a 42+ dia objective.
Must be Second Focal Plane

Make models im currently considering are.....
Athlon Midas HMR
Meopta Meopro
Zeiss Conquest V4s

My apologies for the change in gears......

**EDIT**
I changed my mind on what I wanted to do with the rig and optic combo....My original idea wasn't going to really be a good fit for the gun, or the desire to use the optic later for other stuff.

Thus Ive made some changes to my criteria in choosing a scope.

Looking for a new scope for the 28 Nosler. I have a first-gen Midas BTR on there right now, but for a host of reasons I want something else, and none of my other scopes will work because of the thing's propensity to bounce brass of sticky-out turrets.

The Noslers mostly a toy, but I want to give the gun and round as close to a fair shake as I can. It will be used on targets as far out as I can manage to make hits (sometimes ill shoot at rocks on hills well past my rangefinder's ability to read). It will also be used for mid-range hunting, with shots out to 400-500yds right now, and possibly farther if I ever get good enough to be confident....and willing to walk that far.

The available budget is probably going to be 1200 +/- depending on the deals I can find, and stuff i can dump etc.

beyond that ill try anything.

This will also be a scope that stays around and gets moved from gun to gun as my interest changes I'm sure. I have a Zeiss 3-15x42 as my "general" purpose hunting scope, so this can be heavier and more long-range specific.

I still havent tried a shepard....wanted to since i read about them, but never did.
The only one I've seen in person had turrets that would meet your dimensions
Eta that the 40 objective is a bit shy of your 42+ but if your meopta doesn't work out keep us posted and I'll check out a few other lower profiled turrets with wider objectives.

Shepard huh?
I haven't even heard of them until now.
They have a small cult following, kinda a neat setup, I'm not personally into the bdc reticles (prefer mildots or horus types) but if I were, I'd likely have grabbed up a shepherd by now, not just for the system but the reticle itself having a clean set of cross hairs in each of all but the smallest bubbles is an attractive concept.

I should get out more..
To be fair, I only know of them because roughly 10 years ago a friend brought out his "varmint hunting" buddy who had one on his (I THINK) fireball, and after helping him figure out how to shoot straight, I helped him get it zeroed in. It was neat enough to stay with me but not enough to get my wallet out
