Hello,

As I build Wyoming Preference Points (I truly love the idea of their system which has points to get really good odds in units but leaves 25% of them for "random" draws too), and I look at zones where for instance odds are (based on as past year's data, and yes I realize these numbers may fluctuate wildly each year as Quotas, Applications Received, and Points-Creep all move)

Buck Tag - 50% for 4 point holders (100% for 5 points and up)
Buck Tag - 5% for 0-3 point holders and remaining 4 point holders (29 tags, 543 applicants who didn't draw in the points system)

Doe or Fawn Tag- 90% Chance (500 Quota, 550 Applicants)

Am I able to build preference points and enter draws for buck tags while also applying for Doe/Fawn tags? Or is there no way for me to have a Type 1 or 2 Buck (2 being "restricted" locations like "only to the west of this road") and a Type 6/7 (same deal) Doe/Fawn tag on the same application, or they are different applications? Both would have to be a "First choice" for the odds listed above.

My idea is to apply for buck tags / gain points in an area while continuing to hunt doe tags, I am imagining this is possible but as I have not gone through the process I am not sure how that works.

As an easterner, the points system is a complete mystery to me. I will be watching this thread with great curiosity to learn the answer with you.

Thank you.

But I believe I heard at one time that a “reduced price tag doe” drawing is separate than a full price buck tag. Meaning I would have a first choice full price tag and a first choice doe only tag (which are no points tags only). Is this two separate applications or one, or am I just confused.

I think this photo from a FAQ video on their website answers my Q about them being separate draws. Looks like I can build points and/or apply for buck tags in certain areas while also applying for doe tags in 80-100% draw areas in the meantime, both as first choices in separate drawings.

Gohunt does not specify that at all, it just has license types and draw dates and doesn’t separate it. Although the draw filter for antelope and doe antelope are separated. Looks like the Wyoming website will be the authority.
