Finally got my brand new XD 9 sub compact today. Immediately took it to the range and was really enjoying the way it was shooting. Then on about the 75th round through the thing the little white dot on the front sight just fell off. By some miracle i was able to find it. The sight itself is fine, it is just the white dot that fell out of the little hole in the front blade. Looking for some advice. Should I just attempt to glue it back in. If so what glue should I use. I assume if I call Springfield they will want me to ship it back to them. I assume that will take weeks if not longer. I also have the XDS and really like the red fiber optic sight on that gun. Maybe I should just replace the front sight on the 9. Any suggestions on a good replacement similar to the one on the XDS. It irks me a bit that it is brand new and this happens, but I have two other XD pistols, one for about 6 years, with zero problems.

It's a bummer but in the grand scheme of things it's insignificant. That said, if you're going to reattach the the dot, I would first take some rubbing alcohol to the sight let it dry, then apply glue (I would use a dab of 5 minute epoxy but super glue will work just fine) to the sight stick the dot back on and let it dry.
As far as the fiber optic sight, call Springfield and see who makes their sight set. Otherwise there are plenty of aftermarket sights out there for the XD.

Could call customer service and see if they'd mail you a new front sight. Local gunsmith could install it or DIY.
