I handled one awhile ago. It didn't do anything for me.

The grip was narrow, but without any interchangeable backstraps, it was far too small for me. I wear XL gloves.
The bore axis seemed high to me, and makes it look like a skinny Highpoint.
The trigger pull was smooth and of reasonable weight, but the small size of the grip made it feel pretty lousy to me. The sites were dancing around as I pulled the trigger, and that lead me to believe I would not be able to shoot the gun well.

Bottom line, I'm going to stick with my P30sk and my XDs for carry.

I haven't actually shot one though. If you have smaller hands, it may feel pretty good to you. I just didn't see that it would do anything better than my other guns.

Forum member Shipwreck bought one and sold it off fast. You may want to look him up.

Pretty much the same for me, didn't fit my hands, trigger was meh, decocker/safety was in an odd position for my hand, big and surprisingly heavy for its capacity.

I'd go Sig P239 for a single stack hammer gun (or an old P225) as its about the same size and fits my hands better.

Plus I'm still mad at Springfield for their illinois anti gun legislature shenanagans.

I hate decockers, so it kills it for me. I don't see them being overly popular.

I had one.. First one the local shop got in... Right when they very first came out... Then, I sold it.

I shot it - but I found I prefer the doublestack P2000sk 9mm I have more. The XDe is actually the same size as the P2000sk, just a tiny bit thinner.

Maybe it was the thinner frame - but I found I had to work too hard to hit the center of the target,. The gun was accurate - so, it's not the gun. I just find I don't have to put that much effort into shooting my HK.

Gun is actually same weight at the P2000sk as well. And, I have a 10 round mag in the P2000sk compared to the XDe 8 round magazine (flush mag). In the fornt pocket of my cargo pants - both guns printed about the same. Decided the XDe wasn't for me. I knew I'd never actually carry it in favor of my HK P2000sk.

I'm not comfortable carrying a striker fired pistol, so the Springfield XD-e is an interesting option for me. I like a decocker on a SA/DA pistol. Too much risk lowering the hammer by hand.

The last few years I have been working on my double action trigger pulls, mostly with revolvers but also with the PPK that I carry and while my hits are not precision, they would have an adequate effect on the target.

The first XD-e I had would not hold the slide open after the last round. Among other things, I could wiggle the base of an empty magazine in the gun with the slide in battery and you could hear the follower snap free of the slide lock.

Springfield elected to replace the pistol. The new one has not experienced the same problem--yet.

I like the single action trigger pull. Even though the double action trigger pull releases at the same point as the single action pull, it is just difficult to keep the pistol on target as the trigger seems to release later. I'm getting used to it.

I wish the pistol was closer in size to the XD-s than it is or even better, closer to my PPK in size. But, it is not.

I want to put several hundred more rounds through the gun before I make a final decision on the gun.

I have one and I love it. I have big hands but I haven't experienced any of the problems that others have raised about sighting or shooting. As far as I'm concerned it's a high quality pistol and it hasn't jammed or provided any other problems. On YouTube the owner of Springfield explained his position on the Illinois situation and that seemed honest and legit to me and so I hold no ill feelings toward the owner or the company. The reason I bought the XD-E was because it is hammer fired, manual safety and decocker and that's what I wanted in a pistol.

I stopped by the LGS they did not have a xd-e, the lad behind the counter said he thought the gun was to large for a single stack 9x19. After comparing the xd-e specs to the xd-s 3.3" I can see his point.
I will check another LGS and see if I can get my hands on this pistol.
Thank you.

The Kimber Micro 9 is pretty small when compared to the XD-e.

Today (9/26/17), The Springfield "Gear Up" promotion package showed up at the house with 4 extra magazines, a holster, and belt magazine carrier. A nice perk if you bought a pistol during the promotion period.

If the pistol flames out for me, at least the magazines will work in my XD-s.:)

This is nice to know that the xds mags 8+ will run in the xde.
The Sig p938 maybe worth a look.

I am intrigued by this, my favorite semi-auto format is the Makarov and the XDE seems much the same.
Does anyone have any experience with this pistol?
I have a 3.3 XDs in 9mm and I don't care for the trigger.
I traded my XDm 3.00 9mm in for the XDe 9mm. I love the XDe. It is lighter for carrying and the action is the same as my Sig 226. I much prefer a double action decocker to a striker fired.

I've got one and love it. I wanted a pistol like my SIG SP2022 but smaller. I found it in the XDe. I just like hammer fired better than striker fired.
The bonuses for me are that the slide is easier to pull than other guns, and the fiber optic front sight. FO is just so much easier for me to pick up than other sights. The grip is thin in the hand, and I would prefer a fuller feeling grip, but I got it for concealed carry so concessions have to be made. I shoot as well or better with it than I do with my other pistols. I felt immediately comfortable with the gun. I'm keeping mine.
