I inherited a XDM 3.8 9mm. It has 19 round mags plus all the gear. I would like opinions of other owners. Carrying, shooting, and do you use the holster and mag carrier?

XDM 3.8 w/ full grip was my car gun for a long time. They're nice shooters, good for self defense/range use. I didn't use any any of the accessories.

Mine is also my under the bed, in the car, boat and occasional carry gun. It is a reliable shooter and for me more accurate than my Glock 19. I like the ability to have a short or long (mag) grip. It is a sort of ugly pistol that is nonetheless a very capable weapon IMO.

I don't own one, but my bud does.
I really really REALLY like it.
Really high quality feel, accurate, reliable, eats any ammunition, extreme high capacity, price isn't bad considering. ......And there ain't no more to say.

I've had one for several years and carry it often. I installed a Powder River trigger kit, which helped a lot. I actually like the trigger now.
It's totally reliable and very accurate. I like having 20 rounds on tap.
On hot days when I want something smaller, I carry an XDs .45 IWB under a polo shirt, but normally, the XDm under a Hawaiian shirt is comfortable.
I'm a big XD fan. I have 5 of them. Sold my Glocks.

The paddle holster that came with some of the pistols are GREAT at the range! I never carry OWB so the paddle holster never gets used for carrying. I think the whole Springfield "XD" line up are excellent guns! But it really comes down to what works best for you. Nobody at the range has ever turned their nose up because I was shooting an X gun.

C5F3D246-DA91-43ED-A02F-9D8841C0EBD5.jpeg Took my XDM 3.8 to the range today. Only shot 100 rounds from it but, it was a winner from the get-go. Easy to handle and shoot accurately. Easy enough to rack the slide even with my 70 year old beat up hands. Started carrying it in the waistband for the past few hours doing pretty good no problems. I think I’m gonna like carrying this thing around. It may get heavy after a while but, I have something smaller and lighter I could carry when that happens.

Carried the XDm again today. Carried it in the belt around the appendix area. I’m really liking this Canon. Why would I want to carry a gun this size when all I carried was J-Frames for years? I guess because, I CAN.

I carry my XDm in the factory paddle holster. I like this holster a lot. It's comfortable and has lasted for several years with zero wear.
I'm 140 lbs with a 31" waist, so the gun "prints" quite a bit, but one thing I've noticed after packing daily for 30+ years, unless you're a supermodel or on fire, no one will give you a second look. Hell, no one will give you a first look.
People are far too wrapped up in their own lives to pay attention to bulges under your clothes.

Nice guns, I generally prefer other options but an old XD9 was my first polymer gun and served me well for a while.

The new XDM Elite compact guns in 45 or 10mm have been interesting me of late, I need to fondle one.

My first XD , was a HS 2000 before Springfield imported them …. Was a great pistol
I bought it in early 2001 for $250 OTD NIB
4in barrel 9mm .. kept it for a dozen years, K’s of rounds .. sold it for $350 to a LGS ..
I’ve owned several XD’s over the years
The XDME Compact 10mm is a amazing pistol

I have an XDm 5.25 in 9mm. I bought it simply because I wanted to try out the trigger to compare to my XD9. Over time, I really grew to like the grip, the trigger, etc. I especially like the red light pipe front sight and all-black rear. It has been 100% reliable through thousands of rounds.

For me, the grip is too big for a carry gun.

It has gradually become my primary practice gun, however. My XD45s and XD9 get work, but not as much as the XDm.

I don't use the ammo carrier or holster that were supplied with the gun. The ammo pouch and holster I actually use came from Vedder...terrific gear!

I am a .45 guy and don't have much use for 10mm... but that XDM compact in 10mm has really been calling out to me. It seems like it would be a great woods gun! Before the pandemic someone local was selling one with with both a .45 and a 10mm barrel and the corresponding mags... one of those I should have picked up!

I’m actually after the S&W 10MM offering now. They seem to be hitting the market for the mid $600’s.

Sorry for the thread drift. Now back to your regularly scheduled program…

Well, it’s been a little over a month I’ve been carrying the XDm 3.8. I’m used to the weight mostly carrying in the waist. Went to the Range and put another 200–250 rounds through it. Got to get more practice so I can get on target faster and shoot from target to target faster. Here is my latest slow fire plinking. 5FEE2F64-28D3-4A2D-B811-2CB0B1C64C32.jpeg 18D61CF8-4A1C-4A3C-8A9F-5EFC2018458A.jpeg
