While we were grocery shopping yesterday, I noticed that half-gallon jugs of milk were on sale, and I could almost buy 3 of them for the same price as 1, one-gallon jug of milk. So I bought 2, half-gallon jugs of milk.
Then, because I was running low on small pistol magnum primers, we left the grocery store and went over to Sportsman’s Warehouse. The regular price at Sportsman’s for a 100 pack of CCI 550 primers was $3.59. But the regular price for a case of 1,000 (10-100 packs) CCI 550 primers was $37.99, which made them nearly $3.80 per 100 pack.
I brought the discrepancy up to one of the salespeople, and she scanned the bar code on the case of 1,000 primers for me. But she said that the computer said $37.99 was right. So I just laughed it off and walked over and picked up 10, 100 packs of CCI 550 primers. The total came to $35.90 plus sales tax.
It just kind of surprised me. I mean, I know some people can't do simple times 10 multiplication in their heads, but it seems like smart phones with built-in calculators are everywhere.
