I have always liked the looks of the Police or Combat shotgun but have never owned one.
I had an 870 Express I bought for turkey hunting five or six years ago. A box of full house turkey loads through an extra full choke convinced me that I was never going to be happy with that set up so a soft kicking semi auto came home with me.
The other day I sold my 21" turkey barrel on Ebay for a very good price. I bought a new 18" IC Remington barrel on Ebay for $114. Thanks to the guys here I ordered the +2 extension from Numrich for just over $20. I bought a Wilson spring and follower from Brownells.
I ground out the dimples with an air grinder, polished and reblued the mag tube and assembled everything tonight.
I checked to see if it would hold seven 2 3/4 rounds of buckshot and it did. The barrel and extension match the 870 Express perfectly and I think the whole thing looks great.
Tomorrow I was going to the outdoor range to practice for an upcoming IDPA match. I will take the 870 with me and see how it shoots. I may even fire a few slugs through it just to see where they hit.
Regardless if I needed a shotgun like this, I wanted it and at almost 60 years old, I can have new toys too.
