That's too bad, they're fantastic inexpensive guns. Made to be used. Someone here said it well: "I can't afford any of the guns I own".
Smith and Wesson M&P15 has to be on the list for off the rack production gun in the budget family. They were just over $400 for a time. I have always liked mine, never liked the "M&P" designation though.
Yes! I carry the 41mag as a woods gun while hiking. At 30 ounces empty and between a k&l frame in size with a 2 1/2" barrel it's not a bad carry. I have been wanting to add a 4.2" S&W 69 44 mag to the collection, but it is not as easy to conceal.
SCCY yeh, I doubt that, mine shoots bigger than fist size groups at 7 yards with iron sites, not much of a range gun, more of a bad breath range gun. I bought my SCCY as a bigger capacity than my Kahrs and a super heavy/safe long DOA trigger pull for CCW. Many gun owners equate an economical gun with an unreliable gun but the SCCYs are not that and it has proven reliable (yet boring) for me thru about 500 rounds of reloads/factory fmj. That said it could go click/no bang on the next shot but at least it is second strike capable. I know that if I ever have to use it, even if it's a good shoot, it'll end up in an evidence room somewhere for a long time. And if I am charged with anything, my legal defense will cost more than 1000x what this gun costs. So if you are looking for a range toy, pass on the SCCY guns. jmo, .
Can't beat the Heritage Rough Rider. Got mine on special for just about $100 including two boxes of CCI Quiets.
