As the title says I'm curious what everyone has for a favorite cast bullet profile in each caliber the reload. 158 grain SWC? 45 ACP 200 grain SWC? Let's hear it. Mainly looking for your most loaded bullet in 9mm/40/45/38-357.

Also, do you prefer bevel base or flat base?

150-160-SWC for the 38/357 revolvers
124-RN or TC for the 9mm
230-RN or 200-SWC for the 45 acp
180-TC for the 10mm/40
240-SWC for the 44 revolvers
250-SWC for the 45 revolvers
100-SWC for the 32 revolvers

My oddball stuff:
105-swc in 9mm
158-RFN in 357/38
95-RN for 32 acp and s&W

No need for gas checks.

Like many, I can find no fault with the H&G #68 in 45 ACP.

I like the Lyman RNFP 160 grain "fat" grease groove bullet in my 357 rifle.

510 grain round nose "government" profile bullet in 45-70.

200 grain "Pope style" bullet in breech seated 32-40 is a favorite.

I only do a few different ones so far since I just started a few months ago, but I'd have to say I'm really liking the 120gr TC for my 9mm and .380 loads.

Interesting, how is the 120 gr bullet working out in 380? What kind of 380?

I was advising this person to look into at 120/124/125 grain TC bullet that could be sized to both 38/357 and 9mm. Seems like a great choice.

It's the most accurate load I have in my .380. Shoots great! Using Bullseye. No leading, extremely accurate.

I'm running a Walther PK380.

I no longer cast but my two favorite bullet weights are the same as yours and I use Laser Cast bullets by Oregon Trail exclusively in those bullet weights.

For .40 I like a Lee 175 grain TC. Shoots good and easy to cast. No leading in my Sig 2022.

For revolver, I like 158 grain SWC for .38 Special, also a Lee die. And for .45 Colt a, you guessed it, Lee 255 grain SWC.

I prefer beveled bullets for ease of loading, as you don't have to bell the case as much. I've heard that they are easier to have problems with leading, but I've not experienced that with the beveled base bullets that I've loaded.

I have a Lyman 160 grain WC mold for .38 but I've yet to fall in love with the bullet. I've only tried one or two loads but I haven't gotten one that I'm happy with the accuracy yet.

That's cool. I kinda figured that in some guns the magazine may pose issues, or the chamber, with the length. I guess the right profile helps too.

Yeah, I didn't even know there was data out there until my casting mentor told me where to find it. All I did was made the round where it would fit mag and made sure to pass the plunk test and it's been working great ever since.

.357 uses Lyman 358156 g.c. crimped in top groove. 38, same in second groove.
44 special/mag 429421 solid or h.p.
30-30 311291, 308/30-06 311413 or 311316 for a plinker

Handgun? This 124gr Lee tumble lube has long been an old standby, shown powder coated in pink for a lady friend. :)

Rifle, the NOE 129gr .314 slug for my 7.62x39mm reloadsm shown here powder coated for a joke poster. :) Yes, that IS the seating depth for them.

Hard lubed.

I like TC or SWC for 9mm, TC or SWC for .38/357, SWC for .45 when using cast lubed or coated lead.

I like 158 gr SWC for .38 spl or .357, RNFP for .44 mag. RN 230 gr for .45 ACP. 124 gr RN for 9mm. 100 RN for 1896 BH.

I will start small and work my way up the ladder...I load round nose in 32 acp and 32sw. Hollow base wadcutter in 32swl. I load round nose in 9mm and 38spl. Keith type in 357. In 44 mag I load keith. In 30-30 I load missouri bullet company whitetails

WestKentucky, how do those whitetails workout? I've been thinking about trying some of those out in my .30-30.

I will soon start casting for my 455 enfield revolver....260 gr round nose hollow base
then a 215 gr round nose 303 for my Martini Enfield

then for my little 38 enfield I will fo with a 200 gr round nose double groove

Revolvers - Semi Wadcutter
Autoloader - 10mm/40S&W - Truncated cone; the various 9mm - Round nose.

I ended my experimental boolit phase about 20 years ago and now opt for more shooting and less mold swapping.

I use Lee .358-158tumble lube mold for my .357s with 50-50 alox/mineral spirits. Very accurate for me at 25ys and causes me no problems with leading.

I use a TL314-90 swc mold for my .327FM with reduced loads and it also is very accurate at 25yds. It is down right fun to shoot.

Both of these are with WW lead.

Your favorite cast bullet profile

While I don't cast my own or really shoot much cast my favorites would be HBWC, I have always liked wadcutters in all flavors and MBC has some nice offerings in both .357" and .358". Just something about those nice round holes. :)

I've been looking at the Lee TL358-148 mold and think it will be on my next order. It seems easier for me to find accurate loads with lead.

Those perfectly round holes are nice. I'm really looking forward to casting some wadcutters since it finally cooled down a little around here.

My most loaded in 40 s&w is the lee 175tc since I have a six cavity mold. My favorite is the NOE 200 grain WFN. It drops at around 185 grains after lube with the hollow point pins
