Difficult choice.
S&W 696 or 60-4 I would not part with either voluntarily.

My favorite handgun is my Argentine P-96 Hi-Power. The only flaws with the gun are the magazine safety and the bad trigger pull, and both are easily remedied. The target in the pic is a 29 shot qualifying target shot during my security guard days. It was supposed to be a 50 shot round but the RO stopped me at 20 then let me play. But, I give credit where credit is due, and it goes to my Hi-Power.

I'm not sure that I can name a favorite, but I feel comfortable mentioning the Ruger Security Six as one of the front runners. Perfect size, toughness, and ergonomics, but the trigger could be better. It's not terrible, but it's not Smith and Wesson smooth.

My father's 1965 S&W Model 29-2 6 1/2" barrel. The blueing ( minus holster wear ) is still nearly flawless.
It is a bit of a safe queen in that I only really fire .44 special in it.

My first EDC, purchased new in 1991, 686-3 2.5" Silky smooth action after eating who knows how many rounds. Neglected gun club target shooter for 20+ years and now back as my #1 EDC. Close second is my 626 4". Either one is a daily companion, with the 442 BUG. No malfunctions to clear....ever. I shoot my revolvers better now in DA revolver than some of my SA pistols. Maybe I need a really well-crafted 1911 to sway me...my Kimber Raptor is nice but all of the alloy and MIM....

Mine is a 22 put-together CO2 air pistol I have in the Philippines. I wanted something to shoot rats in the dumps there and a guy from Mindanao sold me his mother's old pistol. His gunsmith Mang Pepe, steel-welded a Weaver base on the barrel and I brought a 2X Swift pistol scope over in my check-in luggage and mounted it up several years ago, and believe it or not the sucker shoots great, and has killed a number of rats there in Bicol Region of PI. It has some sort of dark wood grips on it that are OLD, but man it looks cool especially with that Swift on top. I shoot a lot of handguns but I swear this is my favorite

Beautiful

Well, here is one that on some days is my favorite; a S&W 6" Model 25-9 in .45 Colt. The issue was the original target stocks did not fit my hand well. They have been put away and it is wearing Ahrend's stocks that fit my hand better.

Mine has to be my Ruger SR1911 LWT Cdr in 45 ACP. Beautiful 3.0 lb trigger pull w/o any excess trigger play out of the box, extremely tight and will out shoot my Colt Gold Cup. No need for any extra aftermarket work or ad ons. It's now my favorite wintertime carry piece. Much easier to conceal with bulkier clothes.

I like all my weapons. I own two Glocks. But, my favorite besties are series 70 style 1911. I carry a 5” Colt everyday, even in retirement.
My criticism of the 1911 has more to do with lifestyle than function. You see, I make an effort to be humble to inspire and uplift others. I want to leave folks better than I found them. This is almost impossible to accomplish when they emotionally shut down because they are sick with jealousy that I have a 1911 and they don’t.
This is the rock strewn path I must walk.

It is an arduous road we 1911 men must trod, with the jealousy directed at us, sometimes masked as derision from the striker-fired crowd and their ilk.;)

20201207_091143.jpg Kahr K40. I took to .40 S&W early with the Firestar M40 but when I found the K40 it suited me better with the striker and no manual safety. Its comfortable to shoot and handles recoil better than the Firestar. The Firestar also had quality control issues with the safety and with some of the metal being too soft.

A close second is the Kahr MK40 and the Elite models are awesome. I carry Glocks now but the K40 is still my favorite. It has a patch of grip tape on the front of the grip for better control and I put the Elite trigger in because it was an older model.

My favorite handgun is the Browning International Medalist. My specific favorite if I had to pick one, is the 1971 model in the center below.
I wouldn't call it a flaw, particularly considering that these guns were introduced in the early 1960s, but it would be nice if mounting modern sighting devices (red dot, laser, etc.) were easier.

My favorites rotate around a core group so I don't have just one favorite. Here's my current #1 and the one it replaced.

One of my favorite pistols is the Beretta 92. I’m just really enjoying mine. But my criticism would be the slide mounted safety. In my opinion they should all just be decocker only.

Everything else is great!
