Your Favorite Ruger & Why

Picked up this New Model Single Six, 1973, recently. My favorite, because it replaces a single six that was sold when my father passed 14 yrs ago. My love and interests of guns have changed a lot over the last 10 yrs and I’ve been slowly trying to purchase some firearms my sister sold off from his estate. Guns like this just bring me joy and good memories.

bsparker,
That's a great looking gun.....but those grips are gorgeous. Might I ask what brand they are? They certainly don't look like standard Ruger grips.

Thanks for the comment. I made them myself out of Bubinga (African Rosewood). A hobby I picked up during covid.

I just finished the set in the photo below for a friend on his wrangler after he saw the ones on my single six. I love the grain and color on this wood, I picked the wood up not knowing what I'd use it for but was pretty happy with how they look on revolvers.

Nice work, @bsparker .

Do you have a favorite Ruger & why's it your favorite.

Ohhh, easy one for me. That would be my Ruger Redhawk in .45 Colt. Why? Because it is the only Ruger I own so that narrows things down.

Of all the Ruger revolvers I've had (and still have a couple of them) my favorite was the 7.5" 30 Carbine Blackhawk because I like LOUD!!!:D
No, seriously, my favorite Ruger revolvers have always been the single actions - from the little Bearcats to the mighty 10.5" Super Silhouettes. I like my old 4" Security Six too, but when it comes to DA revolvers, I've always preferred Smiths over Rugers.
Getting back to the 30 Carbine Blackhawk I once had though, I actually punched a running coyote through the ribs with it at about 80 yards. Nobody was more surprised than I was when I did that. But I'm a good actor, and I pretended like I wasn't surprised when that coyote first slowed to a walk when my gun went off, then after staggering forward 3 or 4 more steps, fell over dead.o_O
