1. Win M70 featherweight 30-06 (tradition in my family: Dad gave each son 1st gun of our choice from his collection when we turned 18)
2. Mossberg Maverick 88 pistol grip 12 gage (anti bear gun for backpacking- lived in Alaska)
3. Ruger 22/45 (plinking)
4. Ruger Super Redhawk .44 mag (became primary anti-bear gun)
5. Mossberg 835 Mag 12 gage (turkey hunting while in college in PA)

Of the 11 guns I now own, I only have #1 and #4 of the first five.

The first five here

1963
Mossberg 195K 12 GA bolt action shotgun

1997 and later
S&W 686+
Ruger MK512
Mossberg 500 Persuader in 12 GA
Springfield M1 Garand (from CMP)

The 195K was an 18 year-old's idea of the all around gun when funds were tight. Mounted a 1X Weaver scope. Gathers dust for the most part.

The Ruger MK512 was sold to purchase the Mossberg 500. The barrel had to be replaced, is then considered new gun by California and I would have had to spend a ton to do the paper work. Wouldn't mind having another one, but not particularly interested in semi-autos other than M1s.

#1 Marlin Model 27 - 7 shot bolt action .22
#2 Remington Model 1100 12 Ga
#3 Ruger 30-06 m&&
#4 Beretta 92
#5 Ruger 10/22 it was won in a rifle competition - I knocked down bowling pin tops in the fastest time!!!! well the question was purchase... so...
#5 Smith & Wesson 686+

1.) Ruger Security Six
2.) Sears/Ted Williams .22LR semi-auto of some kind--bought in the parking lot of a supermarket
3.) Montgomery Ward bolt-action .22LR rifle of some kind
4.) Dan Wesson 15-VH
5.) Ithaca 37 Featherweight--pawn shop haul after I returned the world's only broken Remington 870 (which, technically, counts as my fifth gun)

My first five are the only five I've bought so far.

1. S&W 625
2. Stoeger Coach Gun 12 gauge
3. CZ 75B
4. Mosin M44
5. DSA FN FAL STG58

Boy am I a miserable gun owner. I started to get truly involved with firearms about four years ago (when I turned 21) , AND I STILL DO NOT OWN FIVE:mad: . There are so many out there that I want. Maybe when I get a job that pays a decent salary....

Well, here is my sad, small collection, in order of arrival:

1) Win 1300 Defender 12Ga
2) Colt 1911A1 .45ACP
3) CZ 452 .22LR

No. 4 might be a 9mm hicap I think. I'm thinking a CZ 75B maybe.
No. 5 will definitely be a wheelgun. Perhaps some form of S&W in .357mag or a Colt Python would be real nice too.

But hey, I still don't have a nice centerfire rifle! Bolt action or semiauto or lever action? An evil little black one to take care of those darn varmints and be all tactikewl or a manly .30 cal classic of wood and steel?

There is so much to choose from. Plenty of food for dreams....;)

I only own 4 firearms at this time and they are:

1. Glock 17
2. Benelli Supernova Tactical
3. Sig Sauer P229
4. Heckler and Koch .45 USP

I plan to purchase some more in the future. :D

I am big on the classics

ruger 10/22
remington 870 12 guage
ruger model 77 30-06
ruger 22/45
cva bobcat- not really a classic, but I needed a muzzleloader for deer

1. S&W 67 .38
2. Magnum Research Baby Eagle 9mm
3. Ruger 10/22 Carbine
4. VZ-24 Mauser
5. S&W 617 6" 6-shot .22

I've had some bad luck with parts breakage on my S&W 67 but I love it all the same. A very good first handgun (and very upsetting to seehow expensive .38 has become)

The Baby Eagle has never let me down and is more accurate than I'll ever be. No regrets, though I have second thoughts about not getting a CZ-p01 occasionally.

I could have done without the Ruger 10/22. It was a used carbine model that can't be mounted with a scope or peep sights as-is and the novelty of being semi-auto with 25 round mags wore off quickly. The factory 10 round mag is all I use. Not superbly accurate but a fun plinker. Without the desire to 'tacticool' my Ruger I could be better served by a higher quality bolt action .22. Oh well. Didn't spend too much money on it.

Vz-24 Mauser. Looks like crap, shoots very well. Cheap and powerful. Sights are terrible but I might give it the scout scope treatment. No complaints.

S&W 617. Tons of fun. The trigger isn't great (very heavy) but still smooth enough to shoot quickly if your finger can take it. Very tight revolver. If anything, I would have made this my first purchase and got a nicer .22 rifle to go with it. The 6 round cylinder is fine with me, no need for another 4 rounds. After a few minutes of single action and slow DA shooting I invariably get an itchy trigger finger and start to fire 6-shot strings as fast as I can from about 20 yards at reactive targets. So much fun for so little money.

I only have 3 firearms for now(I guess 4...)
1. Savage MKII .22 LR
2. Rossi .22LR/20 guage combo(I guess that could count as two guns...)
3. Mosin Nagant M91/30(Izhevsk 1939)

Ruger RST-6 .22
Ruger Redhawk .44 Mag
Thompson Center Contender .30-30
AMT Govt. .45
Colt Delta Elite 10mm

Somewhere in there, I believe, I bought my SAR-48, but I'm not positive on the date.
Also, the AMT:mad: was replaced soon after the Delta Elite was purchased, by a Colt Mark IV, but since that's been in many threads, you already knew that.:D Had I known what a POS it would be, I certainly would not have wasted my time and money on it.

The rest are keepers, some more so than others. And this doesn't, of course, include the Stevens .22 rifle that was bought for me when I was 12.

Hmm, I've only been shooting for about 6 years, but so many have passed through my hands (not all have stayed), and many came pretty quickly those first 2 years, that I'm not sure I can give you the list in order. IF I think really hard I can probably give you the right order the handguns came and the right order the long guns came- but to put both long guns and handguns together, I'm not sure I can do it.

1st handguns:
-Taurus 82
-Ruger KP89
-S&W 65LS
-Charles Daly 1911
-(I"m not 100% sure which came next- I think it was my CZ 75B)

1st long guns (I'm not sure the order, other than the Marlin was my first gun of any kind, but I think this is pretty good):
-Marlin Model 60
-SKS
-30-30 Winchester 94
-Mossberg 500
-Remington 581 (.22lr bolt rifle)

I sold the Mossberg when I needed money, I sold the Remington because while accurate and reliable I never really liked it. I was stupid and sold the Taurus 82 shortly after I bought the S&W 65LS (I didn't plan to own more than a couple guns back then) and I was smart and sold the Ruger KP89 when I got the Daly (a month after the S&W).

What would I do differently? I'd get a .357mag K-frame S&W or Taurus 65 or 66 instead of the Taurus 82 (I wanted a .357mag, the .38spl Taurus 82 didn't quench that desire, and since I didn't think I wanted to own more than a couple guns I didn't see the use of having both), that way I wouldn't have sold my first gun which was also a perfectly good gun. I would have bought the Ruger KP90 instead of the 89 (my P89 was not the most accurate gun) or I would have skipped to the CZ or a Taurus right away (still similar prices, but I would have liked them more). My first lever rifle probably should have been a .357mag or .44mag so I could use it at the indoor pistol ranges and get more use out of it (I'd still get the 30-30, just later). I would have bought a CZ instead of the Remington, or I wouldn't have bothered with a bolt action .22 at all (I hate to say it, but I find them a bit boring). I would have tried to find a way to not sell the Mossberg (I should have started delivering pizza until I got a job) since it took a couple years until I got around to finally buying another shotgun- and I don't like my Benelli nearly as much as I liked that plain Jane Mossberg Persuader.

This has been really, really fun !!!

The fun part? Memory lane. And my memory has faded!

Buckmark Standard .22LR

AMT .380 SA [the slim one with the grip safety that really wacks the hand]

Colt Double Eagle Commander .40S&W Absolute pleasure to shoot!

Colt O1091 Gov't Stainless .45ACP

PPK/S

#2 & #3 were used, the others not. Still have #4 & #5.

Sold #3 to buy a Para Ordnance CCW745, and that was also a sweet shooter.

In retrospect, maybe starting with a better .22LR ...

first: ruger 10/22 great first gun!

second: SKS better choices could be made but when you need a $100
deer gun your selection is limited

third: remington 870 12 guage 20" with rifle sights. I have rarely been
without a rem 870 since then

fourth: M11/9 9X19 pistol had it about 2 months and traded it off for in
part for an m-1 rifle I should have saved.

fifth/sixth/seventh: a group of 3 revolvers all RG brand. a 4" alloy 38 special,
5.5" single action 22 lr, and a 2" 22 lr double action. all
traded off within 6 months.

In hindsight I should have gotten a nice 1903 sporter and a 1922 to go with it when they were cheaper and gotten a good quality 44 mag first before a bunch of clunker handguns.

Well, here's my first:
100_5833.jpg

1.Galesi 25cal.
2.Charter Arms Undercover 38spec.
3.Victory S&W (chromed/pearl handle grips, 2" brl,etc) 38spec.
4.Ruger Standard, 22cal.
5.Rohm RG14, 22 cal.
6.Ruger Security Six 357Mag.

Of the first 5 firearms I purchased the Charter Arms Undercover and the Ruger Standard 22 were the "pick of the litter".

The Galesi (which I still own) was pretty much a pos.. The Victory S&W was butchered up, bad crown job, couldn't hit the side of a barn with it.. The RG14 was indeed a SNS, but surprisingly did always fire in the general direction the barrel was pointed..

Sorry, I had to add my 6th firearm purchase simply because it was a good one. The Security-Six (we still have) has been an excellent revolver. It still does nightstand duty on my wifes side of the bed. Always ready, plenty of firepower, point and pull.. I'm surprised more people don't buy them used as a first gun purchase, they are very good, and the 357mag. round is a great defensive caliber.

Brion

Marlin M7000 .22 rifle
Browning BDA .380
S&W fullsize 1911
S&W 66
XD45
It was down hill from here. I'm on the 12 step program, 12 guns a year :neener:

First five...
S&W M&P in .40
Glock 22
S&W 686 Plus
Bushmaster AR-15
Remington 870

We've added a few since

The first gun I ever owned was a birthday present, a Kel-Tec p3at. But my list of actual purchases goes like this:

1)Hi-point 9mm
2)Ruger Sp101 .357 Magnum 3"

In retrospect, I should have skipped the hi-point. I wanted a full sized semi-auto pistol at the time and it's all I could afford. It works fine and would kill a goblin just as dead as a more expensive piece, but in the future I'm going to skip bargain substitutes and save up for what I really want.
