If it is useful for you, you did well. Handle looks comfy, price was right, and if you have it when you need it, life is good.

I don’t know if this is my first knife but close. It’s a BSA from about 1950. I found it while tearing out a wall in my Mothers basement. DSC02517-zps8knzm2ru.jpg

My most recent purchase and my first Bark River. They say you never forget your first.

Oops, how did those tequila bottles get in there?

CPM 3V steel, a convex grind and black canvas Micarta handles. The "Legacy" sheath is a style they no longer sell.

    Life is good. :)

    Ooh ooh ooh,i wanna participate!

This first one is a no name butterfly knife. My uncle Oscar gave it to me when I was 7, roughly 14 years ago. It's used and abused to an insane degree. It still cuts, still flips, and still goes with me wherever i tread.

This second one, i picked up from the state of Durango, Mexico while on vacation there, before covid. The only real reason I bought it was because of the inscription. "No me dominan Valientes, Ni con Cobardes peleó".
"The brave won't dominate me,nor do I fight with cowards. "

A bit different than what most of y'all posted, but meh. Happy to participate. 1617080859691301565611980561284.jpg

Like some others here, my first knife was a cub scout knife. I still have the 3" scar on my right leg from that knife, sliced it open making a fort when I was a kid. Latest one I bought was this Josh Clarke knife called a Bitterroot. Bitterroot 3.jpg

This thoroughly abused KA-BAR (bushwhacking and gardening tool) was brought back by my dad from his WWII days and given to me as a child. It would be my first knife.

This S&W pocket knife was the first serious knife I purchased with my own hard-earned dishwashing and stock-clerking money...

And this Spyderco Matriarch 2 is my most recent knife acquisition, as of about a week ago... :)

my first knife was likely a Kamp King just like shown in post 13, might have been a Barlow though I do not recall, my go to now , is a Kershaw Leek , my first fixed blade is an old Eastwing its a little beat up after 30 years but holds a decent edge ,and fits my hands well .

    Barnfixer,
I like the Bark River knife, they make some really nice knives. The knives with the Jade scales are some of the nicest!

I’m a fan of the upper peninsula knife makers. Here’s a couple more, older Marbles, bark river & Hess. 8629672D-D41F-4336-B724-45F230174C2E.jpeg

    Very nice!

Bark River made one of the Bravo knives, think it was called Ghost Jade. Excellent knife, wouldn't mind having one.

My Dad's old Marble Ideal hunting knife would fit in right nicely in with your knives!

I like the inscription on your Mexican Bowie knife's blade. Sort of reminded me of a somewhat similar inscription on another, older Mexican Bowie knife. Freely translated it basically said: "Do not draw me without reason...Do not sheath me without honor". Pretty cool stuff to put on a knife blade!

The Puma Game Warden I got in 1967 and the Old Timer I got in 1966 were the first in my old memory, the top one was a first Ti one given to me in late 80s by an ex wife. .

I really like that old 102 with the original sheath. You can tell it's been around the block.
