Your thoughts on a large Knife

For a budget set, if chopping or other heavy tasks might be required, I might pack a 12" Tramontina machete, supplemented with a vintage Jap or Euro 4-5" kitchen knife, and a Forrester SAK.

I have a SOG Revolver in the truck now, but am considering the Ontario RAT-7. Also you can consider the $40 Schrade SCHF52M if you don't mind an import.

I carry a German square bladed entrenching tool in the car. One side is sharpened, and it easily will chop down a small tree. It came with a leather belt carrier, and when you draw, it rings like a sword.

I carry a mora bushcraft knife in my truck. Bought it for $15 at a gun show. I used it to dress 2 wild turkeys.
