Yugo M24/47 Mauser with minimal receiver markings.

I now have two M24/47 (Samco Global). Both are in nice condition with matching numbers. Here is a photo showing the left side of the two receivers, and two close-ups. I thought the M24/47 always had the factory name-- or this a cobbled M48. All numbers match, not just the bolt and receiver. Just curious. They are both nice rifles.

Congratulations Marlin270, those rifles are known for being good shooters, if the barrels have been cared for properly. They started out as Serbian model 24's, and refurbished in 1947 to Yugo specs. They are similar to a M98 design, but a mid length action like the M48, and most parts will interchange between M24/47 and the M48.

The 24/47 seems to have a smoother action than the M48. You'll run across different 24/47's that have been scrubbed of some of their markings sometimes.
They have little collector value, and respond to being re-barreled and sporterized into wonderful custom rigs.
They are also fine when being left as original, just clean properly if using surplus ammo, as it is all corrosive.

They get wet swabbed out while still at the range or field. Then the normal cleaning as soon as I get home-- never more than a few hours. I excited to see how well I can do on a target. Just shot at the 200 yd gong (12 inches) so far (getting about 3 out of 5) using the surplus ammo from Aim (free shipping got my attention). I put a Mojo sight on one, because I can't see the normal sight very well. Just a snap-in, so not a permanent mod.

I believe that the yugos made a batch to be sent to communist 'freedom fighters' that had little to no marking, but the deal fell through, so these new or newly rearsenaled rifles got unloaded to us right after the Iron Curtain fell.

Some are considered real collectors because there weren't that many of them.

The rifle with out the factory marking probably went through a second refurb. That's the general consensus with most collectors. Any stock markings?

The Yugo Mausers are interesting with all the variations. My personal favorites are the M1924's and M24/52C's.
