Has anyone ever compared scopes of similar power between these two. I was thinking of possibly bidding on a Zeiss Conquest 4.5X-14X 44mm . Anyone own one of these?

I have one Leupold Vari-X III - a 6.5X-20X 50mm - got it at Sinclair a few years back. Does anyone have any opinions on how it would compare to the Zeiss as far as optical clairty , resolution , and lens coatins?

    Any info appreciated!

I have two Conquests a 3.5-10X44 and a 4.5-14X44. They are excellent scopes. They are superior to the two Leupolds I own in brightness, clarity and resolution. I don't know about lens coatings but they seem to have what it takes.
The 4.5-14 has side focus which I like. It's a very handy feature.

FWIW, I also have three of the better quality Nikons. I would rate them somewhere between the Zeiss and the Leupold scopes.

Bottom Gun - Thanks!. Are the Leupolds you own the Vari-X III versions? I like the idea of the side parallax focus on the Zeiss. I went ahead and placed a bid on a Conquest 4.5X-14X matte with the Z-plex reticle.
