Jerry's World Record.

I won a S&W 327 5" at the S&W Nationals and have used it to come in 2nd place Iron Sight Revolver twice in that match. I certainly agree with Jerry that the super-light gun is the way to go for fast shooting.
These days, I use my 327 in pistol league matches. League target best.jpg
The current 327 retails for $1569. They also make the gun with a 2" barrel, which I think is totally stupid. An 8-shot N-Frame .357 with a 2" barrel? Why? What's that thing for?

Keep in mind what Miculek does in his record speed shooting
is exhibition shooting at close targets. I've watched him in
actual matches on YouTubes and he's considerably more
"normal," fast, very fast but not his show-off exhibition shows speeds.

That may be true, but you can only "show off" in those exhibition events when the normality of your speed is well above the others.

I love snub nose revolvers, but a 2" n frame is a little lopsided.

Has anyone seen the video of Jerry shooting a J- frame held upside down at a gong? I forgot the distance.

A light weight, high capacity 357 to carry in the woods or trail. Even with a 2" barrel it can shoot heavy slugs with enough speed to get reasonable penetration on heavy muscled predators. And 8 shots of snake loads makes it handy for the desert.

Everything I watch the greatest do is more difficult to actually do.

I'm just glad they have DC, then 1st place. :)

A Trail Gun I bought this one, a M-60 with a 5" bbl., soon after they were announced, just short of two decades ago & truly appreciated it its light weight but I loved it for the 5" bbl. which makes so much of a difference in practical accuracy. It's one of the most accurate .357's I've ever owned.

As Skeeter Skelton once opined, a five inch barreled revolver (his was a M-27 Smith) is about all that you can reasonably carry OWB & on the belt without it sticking up into your short ribs. That's very true of this one, and to achieve that it requires, at minimum, a high ride holster, with no drop kind of like this one that I made up.

For many years, my #1 son had a major hankering for it and I finally gifted it to him one Christmas. So here's the mini-beast, with a list of attributes to qualify it as A Trail Gun. It's a .357, pretty much in name only, however as we normally carry with the old FBI load. It does feel a mite better with magnum loads than my usual carry piece, a M-60 with a 3" bbl., but neither is suitable for 50 round range sessions...Best regards, Rod

Barrel long enough to give good, accurate sighting....Check
Eight (8) shots.....not in a J-Frame, only five, good enough if you know what your doing!
