Recently picked up a 7 prc cva cascade lrh and am trying to make a decision on a scope for it. Robbed a vortex viper off of another rifle just to see how it shot but am now looking to find a scope that will stay on this gun. Going back and forth between a burris eliminator ( likely a 4 due to cost) and a dial turret scope such as a Leopold vx3hd 4.5-14x40. Anyone have experience with one or both?

Ive used an older eliminator, and it was ok as both a range finder and a scope, but not something i found particularly nice to use. If the newer ones have nicer glass and longer distance RF the i might change my opinion.
I use dial scopes often and have a vx-3hd 2.5-8. I like that one quite a bit, only downside is the zlock limits you to only one rev up.

My longer range rifles all have dial and/or graduated reticle scopes on them. Ive found that if im rushing to range and shoot, i probably shouldnt shoot. If im not rushing, then dinking with my RF and spinning my dials isnt much of an issue. To be fair tho ive only taken a few shots ive actually adjusted my scope for.....my hunting distances are inside of guestimation range, so im mostly an "about there" kinda shooter.

You might look into the Sig BDX system

It's a seperate scope and range finder, but they do work together.

Pretty slick system, and there's multiple options for both scopes or range finders depending on the task at hand, and your budget.

Don’t. The Eliminators are a gimmick which tends to fall apart in application.

As to quality, the VX3HD’s are fine, but if you’re dialing and shooting long range, a second focal plane VX3 is the wrong tool for the task. You have that Viper, I assume a PST in FFP, so you can see firsthand the advantages of an FFP scope for managing mid and long range shots. The VX3 will leave you wanting more after a short time in the field.
