I just picked up a new Keltec P32. Cleaned it over the weekend, lightly lubed it, and took it to the range this morning. Ran 150 rounds of PPU 71gr FMJ's and finished up with 20 rounds of Buffalo Bore 75gr hard cast through it. The PPU was extremely dirty and was flinging crap back at my face. The gun is struggling with failures to eject and I don't know if it's break in issues, ammo related, or something else. It happend twice a mag through the first few mags, but by the last box of PPU was "only" happening once every 3-4 mags. The Buffalo Bore ran flawlessly but 20 rounds isn't a huge sample size and within that margin of error of 3-4 mags. I don't think this is any sort of user error, I've also have had 2 different LCP's over the course of 13 years with 3k rounds combined through them as well as a couple micro 9mm's so I'm used to shooting these small guns.
Every time it was the same type of failure, shown below. To clear it I'd drop the mag, pull back on the slide and the case would then eject. I wondered if riding my support thumb on the slide could have been the issue but it didn't seem to make a difference when I kept my thumb clear. One thing I did not do (which I regret) is inspecting the cases that didn't eject. Both the extractor and ejector appear fine to me.
I'd like to get a different type of ammo and run at least another 100 rounds through it before I call Kel tec, but wondering if you guys have any opinions.
